TR4321 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Does anyone have a chart of how-to diagrams and recommended rods, reels, knots, hooks, weights for the wide variety of soft plastic bait rigging that now exists? The chart at http://www.fishinfo.com/fishing-articles/article_512.shtml is pretty good for the riggings that it covers but it is dated 2011 and does not cover the more recent rigs like rage, ned, wackey, neko, mojo, donkey, double fluke, shakey head, etc.. Super User roadwarrior Posted February 18, 2016 Super User Posted February 18, 2016 The BassResource.com Library is extensive. Look into the links in green at the top of the page, "Articles". TR4321 Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Thanks. I find the how-to videos and transcripts very helpful, but I am looking for diagrams and concise written explanations that I can print out and keep handy in a notebook. Something like the charts at http://www.fishinfo.com/fishing-articles/article_512.shtml but more up to date. Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted February 19, 2016 Super User Posted February 19, 2016 What I have done is created my own notebook either drawing out rigs and ideas in a smaller notebook or by taping magazine articles/pictures of rigs and stuff printed off from websites in a composition size notebook. Quote
TR4321 Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Yes, I think I may end up creating my own notebook from different sources. Perhaps this is a good idea for any aspiring writers who want to publish. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted February 19, 2016 Super User Posted February 19, 2016 I am a relatively new fisherman and I found it very helpful to just sit down with some plastics and tackle and work out rigging while watching a movie. By sacrificing a plastic or two out of each new bag I can try out a bunch of different rigging methods to see what works and doesn't before I hit the water. When I find something that looks promising I take a picture with my phone so I can reference it later. If you are not fishing with it then even a fragile plastic will last through dozens of rigging trys before they totally fail. Hell, I have some z-man worms that have had hundreds of hooks and such shoved through them. I keep all the "practice" lures in a box, so when I get a new hook or jig I can fire up a movie and work through my box looking for a good fit. Quote
