Greetings everyone,

I'm new to this forum and fairly new to bass fishing. If you all can give me a hand, I'm looking for fishing spots in the Broward County area.

I've gone to the Silver Lakes Rotary Park and only been able to catch two small bass there.

Also, what color baits do you all suggest for these areas?

Thank you,

Welcome to BR, you may find what your looking for if you do a history search over on the "Other Species" forum. There have been multiple peacock threads moved to that forum

Colors for plastics, watermelon/red, junebug, black, Okeechobee, and morning dawn.  These all work well and have caught thousands of bass.  The 4 inch stick-o, trick worms, u tails, flukes, and finesse worms and all been working well.  Fish slow when bank fishing.

If your fishing for peacock its a different story, in-line spinner Texas rigged with a single hook and grub, Rapala 9 stickbait, small spinnerbait, and always live bait.

I'm interested in trying out the in-line spinner Texas rigged with the grub but definitely will take note of all this.

I'm seeing a lot of Rapala X-Raps and Shadows in the forums. Any comments on these?

If your looking to hunt Peacocks with these they are great baits for them.

The most peacocks are in west broward now .. Like pines and Weston and parkland etc . I mostly use flukes or jerkbaits or shiners

I was thinking about doing the Coral Springs area this weekend if time allows it and try to go after peacock.

Sidenote: Went to pick up some Rapala Shadows yesterday at Bass Pro. Online it was on sale for $7.49, regular price $9.29. They charged me regular price at the store but once I brought the issue up they honored the price difference and returned that money back. Moral of the story, always ask if they honor the online price.
