Super User Cgolf Posted February 16, 2016 Super User Posted February 16, 2016 Initially when Bandit was bought, I was concerned about them discontinuing the 100 and some of their other baits. What I am seeing now are massive price hikes. They went from being the bargain bait rockstar to more than the KVD baits. What are they thinking? I was going to buy a bunch of backup baits with my next order, but instead will wait to run across some sales to resupply. Not sure if I am surprised by this or not, disappointed, heck yeh. Quote
tholmes Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'm not sure what happened when PRADCO bought the brand, but they really ticked me off when they dropped the 5/8 oz. squarebill. Corporate bean-counters runnin' the show, I reckon. Tom Quote
Bigbarge50 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I think it is the "premium" lure companies effect.... When Lucky Craft rose, then megabass, and now Livingstone.... If people will pay 15 bucks for what is essentially a medium running crank bait.... why would these other companies not raise prices. Bandit has risen in price.... but seemingly almost every hard bait has jumped at least a buck or two in price. I would love to blame them but when bomber model A's catch almost as well if not just as good as a lucky craft crank.... why would you not raise to almost the same price if you feel your product is nearly as good. (I own a lot of bombers and A LOT of lucky craft) Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted February 16, 2016 Author Super User Posted February 16, 2016 It was very noticeable though when very recently the Flatt maxx went from 5:49 to 6.79 at TW. It was then that I noticed the 100s were now more than the SK KVD squarebills. Thankfully I still have 20 or so 100s (1 year and a 1/2 supply), but will be combing clearance racks to pick some up on the cheap, at 6.49 a pop I won't be doing a bulk order. As far as the Lucky Craft impact, Rapala was the worst for their price increases. Quote
0119 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Maybe that is why Berkeley has put the price on their new hardbaits at around $6.50. They have a Sebile-ish look about them. Pure Fishing is good at introducing things cheap then raising them steadiIy sold all my Bandits because they were not tough enough to stand up to my saltwater by-catch that comes with my bass fishing. Philo Beddoe Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I haven't noticed the increase on Bandits, but did pick up a couple on sale for $3.99 at Cabelas yesterday. Quote

I just looked at some prices I had from last June for TW and the 100s went up a 1.10 on there site. Unfortunately my local cabelas is not the best when it comes to fishing tackle, but I will definitely be on the lookout for good deals and closeouts. I will be a little more selective where I toss them now and work a little harder to get them free instead of just breaking them off. Quote

I managed to snag a few 100's when they were on sale a month or so ago for $2.40 each. Guessing I should have bought a bunch more. Quote
