I was using a spinning rod for the size #5 shad rap until 2 years ago. Now I use a Fenwick Aetos 6'6" ML-M casting rod and I got even a better way to throw them on a medium power rod. The Bagley Balsa Shad #5, the #5 shad rap is 2", the Baley #5 Balsa Shad is 2.25" but it weighs 3/8oz and let me tell you, I'm really liking it!!! Last year I got to try them out, I only got a little bit of time but I can tell you, big time fish ctcher and easier to cast!!!
