What pound test are you using to drop shot him?

There's a few answers here depending on the application ~

For a wild open & world class Cannibal Bite - I like to go with 400lb test parachute cord - unless I start getting bit off then I'll add a short section of piano wire.

 And when I'm going for these  . . . t-rex11.thumb.jpg.9e92e95f801a03dbad27fb

I'll usually go with whatever the Tow truck is rigged with . .

:)

Thanks for asking.

Taking selfie's to the extreme. Looks like the guy in the sunglasses reflection is holding a rod.....oh I see, he's just getting the line twist out. Now that's a fishing buddy. Probably slightly intoxicated but a trooper for sure.

Holy smokes!  Nothing like a well sharpened hook!  But maybe confirm it in a fish's mouth

A-jay and Sloan for a bait that size you are going to need a bigger hook, especially when targeting Tyrannosaurus. A double rifle in 500 Nitro Express is my go-to for "landing" this species.

I hear ya ~ but a bigger hook might require placement through the head - and that really kills the action.

I guess that explains the looks I get.

Excellent point! No wonder we spend so much time discussing these matters and so much money on gear. It is very complicated.

While dinosaurs are fairly rare in most parts, they are certainly as common as other species often discussed here!

Yup.

Hope that wacky little ground hog is right this time . . .

Additionally, I would gladly pay for a mosquito bite right now.

Here's where your inexperience as a live bait fisherman rears its ugly head. A treble stinger hook strategically placed just above the tail section of the bait will almost guarantee landing your prey. One thing about targeting the T-Rex is once their hooked, they aren't coming unbuttoned. Fortunately for us, their arms are too short to allow them to unhook themselves. Were the target species the "squatch" then a quick strike rig would be a better option since they do have long arms. The more complicated the rig, the more difficult for "squatch" to undo.

and all of which explain very well why even the most experienced of them all will never snag a unicorn or a leprachaun.

unicorns obviously being far too smart to fall prey to any human rig, period.

a leprachaun being too small and quick to land, not to mention if you do actually hook one they're mean a$$ little fighter with a drunkards wobble with arms just long enough to unhook a well placed hook from any spot other than their Achilles heel.

I just snag em' in the middle of the back, they put up the best fight that way trying to reach that thing, I've caught two so far using that method, the only problem I had was trying to stuff em'... guess I should have poked em' first to make sure they were really dead.

Good to know when something like this happens everyone remains calm and cool, and starts posting to instagram.

Yes, that is the proper response. Get the incident on video if possible, take photos, post to the interwebz, review video/photos, call friends, call 911/seek medical help after a couple of more hits/drinks of the mind altering substance of the day...
