Did you not read the post by someone else that said he too contacted st croix and they said it wasn't the same blank?

exactly what I asked you not to do.  More rhetoric.

Why would you believe what other people think rather than what the actual company knows?

Again, if you even bothered to do any bit of research, you would get what we are trying to tell you. I'm not believing what "I think" he knows. He has more information and understanding of rod blanks than most, if not all, of your run-of-the-mill st. croix reps you met at a show or sports store trying to get the rods in the door. You are exactly the type of person they want to sell things to because you take their word as the gospel. Am I calling him a lair? No. He most likely looked at his pamphlet, saw both are SCIII, are just told you they are the same. To that point, he was correct. And to be fair, that's all I would expect from him. Both are SCIII but they are made up of different materials which, spoiler alert, means they aren't the same blank. I, as well as others, have pointed out exactly how they are different and pointed you in the directed to educate yourself. Heck, you could probably even contact Mr. Hovanec and he would explain in much greater detail if you want.

Hey now... My daily driver is a 78 vw bus

I have a love hate relationship with them. I've owned a couple MK1 rabbits and some of the later junk. Just totaled my 08. Couldn't be happier.

Why do you put more value in what so and so says than what the actual factory will tell you?

I know nothing about the new vw's really, heck I've never even owned a vehicle that was built after 1980. Lol

Because he does not work for (only with) the company and will give you a complete, honest, unbiased answer. I think it would do you some good to speak with him so you understand what everybody is trying to tell you.

I'm sure there are a few st croix reps reading this thread right now and laughing.

And I'm all in here thinking about ordering an older mojo bass wondering if it's good enough sensitivity for plastics the 7 foot mh or the 7 foot (they're on sale for 89 that's why and I need a rod since one of mine just broke)

I think at this point if someone ever stumbled across this thread in their research of these rods, we have to assume that they are smart enough to figure out what is "useful" and what isn't.  February on Bassresource...

Get the Rage for the same price.  It's a 2016 MOJO blank which is the same as a 2015 Rage with better paint and maybr, just maybe was on the same rack as an Avid once... (seriously look at the Rage).

St Croix mediums tend to be stouter than other rod makers.   It would be identical to the 7" avid if you have expierence with that rod.

I have owned and used both 7ft/7ft1in medium Rage and Avids...  they are nothing alike.  Look at the warranty...  if they are the same blank, why not have the same warranty?

Add 50 bucks to the rage and there is your lifetime warranty.

To me it depends On your preference handle and guides wise plus or minus $30.

What's being lost here is not if they are different  or not, they are probably very similar.

I prefer cork and ceramic guides and would choose the mojo. You May like the wire guides and neoprene handle and go or the rage. $30 maybe be a deal breaker. They both will be plenty sensitive for jigs.

Except they charge you  $55 to replace the MOJO and $85 for the Avid...  the component differences aren't  $30 dude.

Avid has lifetime warranty Dude.  Not 5 years.  Why are you comparing componants on the mojo when you asked about the rage?
