dtanner1865 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Just like the majority of you guys, i will be hitting the water like crazy in the upcoming months, but i am having trouble finding the topo/bathy maps in my area for free. i dont mind spending money on some but would like to avoid if possible. Do any of you guys have any sites, contacts, or tips on finding accurate maps of the lakes in my area? The lakes at the top of my list are Eufala, Lawtonka, Elmer Thomas, Grand, Thunderbird, and Elmer Thomas to give you guys an idea on what lakes i would like to explore. Thanks in Advance Go Vols. Super User geo g Posted February 15, 2016 Super User Posted February 15, 2016 I live in Florida and the u of Florida has a web site with over 100 topo maps of our most popular lakes for free. The maps are pretty good. I print them out and then laminate the ones I plan on visiting. Try UT, other big universities, and the state fish and game for the same type of site. Quote
MFBAB Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 This is a pretty nice free website for viewing Navionics Maps: http://webapp.navionics.com/#@10&key=se~rE%60rwdP Quote
Dfred Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Catt, I have been catching nice bass on Toledo Bend all winter I believe they are now in the transition period from deep to shallow I have started from where I was catching them and moving progressively shallower and I am still catching fish here and there but not the quality or quantity that I have been, my question is do you have a specific way you follow these fish ?, I fish from Indian Creek up to Housen Bay Quote
bonzai22 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I was using fishidy it costs to get the hot spots. But you can look at the topo maps for free and see some spots with gps. Quote
NWA Angler Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 As others have said, I just started using Fishidy and Navionics Webapp - I also downloaded the apps for iPhone. The Navionics app is amazing, as you can truly see the contour lines and locate structure points. Quote
