I made this jig with a mega strike head and marabou feathers.  I know usually people make them with deer hair but I want to do something a little bit different.  I think next time I'm going to add some silicone. What do you guys think?

I like it!! I tie a lot of jigs, it seems like I never stop tying but one thing I can tell you is that style you tied works. You don't see marabou tied with chenille for bass jigs very much as they are typically used for Crappie. I have a video on you tube on how I tie marabou but there is one I do just like yours but I like using smaller heads with light wire hooks for my hair jigs.

Very nice. I will say that if you will keep your thread and chenille above the collar, it will flare your feathers out more, help hold a larger profile once it's wet, and give you better action. Beautiful jig though. Nice colors and the marabou has great action.

Smallies hammer marabou jigs and they will definitely eat that one. As said above it looks like the wire on that hook is too heavy, it will still catch fish but a light wire hook would fish better. I like using an 1/8oz black or brown marabou jig with a floating worm as a trailer during the spring and summer for river smallies.
