James Pondscum Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 What would you choose and why? Quote
Cgrinder Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Which application? The Legend Elite, being newer, has the edge in some components but the blank on the NRX is hard to top. Quote
James Pondscum Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thought I put it in. Jig and worm rod. Quote
Molay1292 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 If it were a horse race, it would be very difficult to bet against the NRX. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted February 14, 2016 Super User Posted February 14, 2016 Performance I would put the NRX against up with anything. Warranty would go to St. Croix. 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted February 14, 2016 Super User Posted February 14, 2016 Very close. Quote
EllisJuan Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I love St. Croix rods and the company in general, but I would go NRX. In my opinion G Loomis has the edge in the upper end of their line ie; GLX and NRX. I always felt that St. Croix had the edge in the middle/lower tier of their lines ie; Avid and Premier. However I took out a G Loomis E6X for the first time yesterday and was really impressed. Quote
Silas Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I have the NRX 893 and the Legend Elite, but in a 6'6" since it was on sale at Sr Croix for $250 shipped. Just started jig fishing. I use the NRX for pitching 1/4oz jigs and creature baits and the Elite for casting 1/2 oz Brauer Structue jigs into heavy brush. I feel my strikes are best detected (by me) on the NRX. I think the components are better on the Elite but have no complaints on the NRX. SORT OF A "Plain Jane" fantastic Rod! Quote
clh121787 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 100 dollar question...has anyone fished with both long enough to give a fair answer Quote
