Pondboss16 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 when is the best time of year to fish poppers Quote
Burtonxj Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I fish them spring, summer, and fall. I throw them early in the morning and late evening. Quote
Buckeye Ron Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I like to use poppers in the Spring and Fall during the early morning and evening, and in the heat of Summer an hour before and after dusk. Quote
Fishin Ethan Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Poppers are a great bait if worked the right way. Personally the spring and summer have been the most effective. And PondBoss16 for ponds during the dog days of summer I find poppers effective. When the late evening sets for ponds, poppers are very effective at getting strikes from bass. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted February 14, 2016 Super User Posted February 14, 2016 Best times for me are post spawn to late fall, but I always have at least one with me. Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 14, 2016 Super User Posted February 14, 2016 I fish them year round. Quote
sprint61 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Year round, my favorite time is middle of a hot day in the summer around shaded cover. Quote
alzun664 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 The best time of year for any topwater is definitely fall, but you can get bit on them year round as stated. I seem to have the best luck on poppers anywhere from late summer through the fall and on overcast days year round. Quote
