Jigs from TW - Any good ones?

Another vote for buying the heads and skirts separate and assembling. Part of what you pay for in a mass produced jig is labor and packaging materials. Like WW2Farmer noted buy the boss heads and skirts and put them together yourself.

If you look at the wood walker heads for example, sold in 4 packs for $6 and skirts sold in 5 packs for $3.5 that is about $10 bucks to make 4 jigs for a cost to you of about $2.50 per jig. Then look on their website for what jigs you can find for $2.50 a piece. (That's right, there aren't any)

  I have bought a lot of Booyah jigs from TW as well as A.T. (all terrain) tackle jigs.  They are both yery good, and offer a design style to suite your needs, and wont break the bank, about $3 a piece.  I agree with the Siebert jigs being very very nice, I have some and love them.  But for TW those would be my choices from experience.  There are so many brands out there it is mind boggling.  I usually look for some cheaper priced ones, but keeping in mind not to sacrifice quality.  The way I use jigs, they are going to get lost sooner than later, so Im not going to stock my box with jigs that cost more than $5 a piece.  I catch a lot of bass on jigs like those mentioned above.  The thing about some of the cheaper jigs is that the paint chips easily.  If I can make it to about the end of the day, most all the paint is gone off the head, but I keep pounding the bass regardless, they don't seem to care a whole lot most times it dosent seem like.  The jigs I have tried for sieberts are the toughest, and nicest paint I have ever seen.  Durability is insane, and his jigs also don't break the bank either.

Dirty Jigs are always a good choice. Don't overlook the Molting Craw color in the HP Flipping jig

I assembly my own so can't help you with what jig to get but, the classic sale should be coming up so definitely wait for that. I would try youtubing the jigs these guys mentioned, sometimes tw has videos on the items when you click on it and don't forget the reviews at the bottom of the page as well

This year I went with (new-tech) heads and Dirty Jigs skirts. We'll see how that goes. Both seem very high quality.

Am I correct to say the heads alone are $3.45? Did some checking on the New-Tech website and that is what it appeared to me. The heads look interesting but I have a hard time paying over $2.00 for a painted head with a weedguard. Have you used them much to comment on how they perform and come through cover?

On a side note I do like the Dirty Jigs skirts. Seems to be of very good quality compared to others I have used. I bough a few dozen 5 packs when they ran their Black Friday sale. Love the color selection and getting 5 skirts for $4 is a good value. I believe I paid under $3.50 a pack when they had their sale.

Yeah, the heads were a little expensive. Hopefully I won't regret paying that much for them. I'm a sucker for innovation and things that are different. They haven't gotten any use as of yet, so I can't comment on that. The only thing is I wish for a jig of that price they would use a heavier wire Gamakatsu instead of an Owner cutting point. But that's just my preference. They don't lie about those things standing up straight, though. Not that it matters as much as they say it does. We'll see as far as hookups go.

 

Side note: As you said, those Dirty Jigs skirts are awesome. I think those will be my new favorite skirts by far as long as they don't fall apart easily.

Megastrike jigs always stand straight up.

 

Revenge jigs are quality and primarily what I fish.

Skinny Bear makes great jigs as well.

Anyone buying Tungsten Jig Heads somewhere and making their own? In New Hampshire we have a lead ban effective come June which is forcing me to sell off my Dirty Jigs... the majority unused (in Flea Market). I am now on the lookout for a replacement.

PM Mike at Siebert Outdoors. Tell him the head style, color, and hook preference and I am sure he could probably build some heads for you without the skirts.

Some of my favorites are the Hack Attack, Terminator pro model jig(green pumpkin Orange is deadly), I just bought a couple of the new Booyah bank roll jig from BPS. Really excited to try them out. The design of the head stands up perfectly every time. Excellent design and some unique colors

X2. My favorite is watermelon red flake. The best. 

I have n.u.-tech jigs and a few other more expensive jigs and honestly prefer the Skip N Jig over them.
