I know there are a lot of threads on braided lines on here, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

So, does anyone have experience with the PP Super Slick? How is the knot strength on it with the slicker coating?

How does it compare to suffix 832? I'm asking about these specifically because of their a availability in stores around here.

I refrained from moving up to PPSS8 because
I liked regular PP good enough.

Then I found a deal on a 1500 yard spool of
15# SS8 and bought it. It is great stuff. I have
no problems with line-to-leader knots that I
normally tie, the Albright/Alberto, uni x2.

Everything holds great, just make sure you
cinch it down well, as usual.

Im not sure how it compares to 832, but its good stuff. Its my go to line for senkos as well as topwater.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it serves you well. I do a uni to uni knot as well so that's good news.

I like it a lot in salt water . I use it for my sons smaller spinning reels . But I find that I don't like it as much over time . I prefer fire line in small diameters and sunline braid for my punching and frogging. I don't flip with braid so

Ive compared 20# s8s to 20# 832 and with various knots (palomar uni fishnfool trilene) s8s holds more weight. Every knot held past 20# on the S8S. With the palomar knot the 832 gave at little over 18# a couple times.

S8S is quieter as well.

Sounds like an easy choice then. Thanks for you input, it was very helpful!

I use the 50# for bottom contact and frogs. It's great line but the color wears off in an hour.

Color fades faster than the regular PP even?

Well the colors of s8s are on the lighter side to begin with. Moss Green regular powerpro is much darker than s8s aqua green so it will remain darker even well worn. For fading Trilene Pro braid holds its color the longest of the brands Ive tried.

Definitely.

I spose it doesn't really matter tho. I always use a fluoro leader with finesse and when froggin it's pads and weeds anyway. So long as it's just color and not the line itself weakening.

I use 50# on one of my Muskie setups.  No issues with knots and its casting ability is excellent.  I find that if and when you birdsnest, its a real pain to untangle.  It seems to dig deeper for some reason. Keep in mind that I'm throwing baits north of 3 oz so when it grabs, it grabs!

I gave it ss8 a good go for a long time. Great knot strength, and easy knot tying. Just couldn't stand the way it fluffs back on the spool. Back to regular PP for me. One CuradoI has max cuatro on it to try out.

It's braid. Don't over think it.

It digs deeper cause ss8 doesn't go back on tight. I think its cause it's so slick.

Makes sense.. sometimes a little friction is a good thing.
