Bmac Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Hey guys I'm new to south Florida I've recently moved here from New Jersey and I currently live in Lauderhill. Seeing as to how it is going to be bass spawn soon I want to get into fishing after seeing some amazing catches all over the Internet but I don't know any good spots around here if anyone knows any please feel free to help me out Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Welcome to the forum and S. FL.. The best advice truly is to get friendly with google maps. S.FL is a mecca for bank fishing. The water systems around here are referred to as "canals" around here. They connect to one another via underground pipes. So , if you see a pond or small lake close to a canal, chances are their connected and hold the same fish. As a reference to the further west you go to better the quality fishing there is. For example I wouldn't look for spots eat of 441/ i-95. If you look on google maps the cities, basically anywhere in Coral springs, Plantation,Davie and Weston would be a good place to wet a line. On a side note, if you want to learn techniques on bass fishing in general there is a ton of great info on here to. 1 Quote
ns0287 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 The C14 canal is not far from you. There's plenty of bank access and it's a good start. Also like fishy fingers said, Google maps in the way to go. Also Also don't forget your in prime real estate for some snakeheads. Good luck! 1 Quote
