I'm a fan of reading reviews. That rod gets great reviews on TW. It sounds pretty versatile and that it could do what you're asking. If I were you search the Internet and try to find a deal.

I have one... Very versatile rod... Has more of a parabolic bend.. I think the best use for it is traps and square bills...

I have a brand new one for sale on the forums. It's nice but I didn't realize it was moderate action at the time of purchase. I have no need for it. Good rod though.

Seems like a great rod for the price I'm just wondering if it can do what I.need it to with that taper and have enough to drive the hook

I've owned that rod and for light plastics and t rigs you would be fine.  It does have a parabolic action but you can compensate with braid.  I actually used it to throw weightless Flukes which are single hooks and it worked great

Sorry for nit-picking but the Rod builder geek in me compels me:

The word parabolic is misused all the time. A parabolic Rod would be a slow Action that bends evenly along the length forming a U shape. Saying " more parabolic" is like saying "more square".  The more accurate description would be slower, or more moderate action. Thanks for letting me vent. Back to work. Lol

That rod is fine for Texas rigs. It's definitely not a parabolic action, it's a moderate fast action. I have two and they are the most versatile rods I own. Plenty of backbone to set a hook with plastics or a jig.

Thank you, this rod is NOT PARABOLIC.  If you have fished or picked up one that is you would know and the 7"MH is far (really far) away from even being moderate action honestly.  Closer to a Fast action with a little softer feel.

And yes, I have 2 of this rod as well.  I use it for traps, 3/8 football and swimjigs, t-rigs, topwater, have used it for smaller frogs, pitched and punched grass (1/2oz punch rig in some loose grass).  Also have fished buzzbaits as well.

Thank y'all. I felt it today and it felt good in hand but a softer tip than I was uses too but that's what I'm in need of cause these tidal bass are getting a little finicky and all want small meals lol

This is one of the few rods that I own that I paid full price for.  It was on the rack at my local Walmart and I decided I wanted it.  I think that it is labeled correctly, in that I find it to be great at doing what it is labeled as, i.e. throwing lipless cranks.  I haven't tried it for any other purpose and don't expect to.   I like it for doing what it does.  If you are looking for versatility I think that you could get away with throwing any reaction bait on this rod.

I wouldn't throw soft plastics on this rod - ever- basically because I have several rods that I think are better for working soft plastics/jigs/jika rigs.

That rod isn't a great fit for T-Rigs at all. It is a little bit stiffer than a cranking rod, but only until a little pressure is applied and then it has a deep flex. The reason for that is the rod was meant for throwing traps and ripping them of the tops of weed beds, not for working worms. Braid will help it do that but then it still won't have the power to move a larger fish out of cover, if it was a heavy power yeah, but that isn't what the rod is. I would call it a medium heavy light, somewhere between a medium and medium heavy compared to most other medium heavy rods. Get the Bucoo 7' heavy power, fast action, that rod is made for jigs and worms unlike the trap caster you are looking at.

I get that logic I just need something for more finesse plastics. I have a few mh rates 3/8 to 1 oz. I need something softer

Possibly just look into a medium power fast action rod then. Even maybe a medium light depending on how light of stuff you're throwing.  The Bucoo series does run 1 power lighter than rated so it could be a good choice with the mod/fast action.
