Super User slonezp Posted February 9, 2016 Super User Posted February 9, 2016 Local Cabelas flyer has them on sale this weekend for $199. I fired one years ago when they first came out and bought a Bersa .380 because it fit my hand better, but the Bersa is not a pocket gun. Is it $199 well spent for what it is? Reliable? Quote

Purchased one for my daughter, in the muddy girl pattern of course but, the gun itself is a straight shooter, very accurate and reliable piece, we have fired approx 1000 rounds through it and had no problems, the only thing I really don't care for about the gun is removing the slider pin to break it down, it's not as bad as you would think but it's just a small inconvenience, other than that she loves it !!! 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 9, 2016 Super User Posted February 9, 2016 My brother had one and sold it. He has bear paws, I have no clue why he bought it to begin with with giant hands. I shot it and it was fine. At 199? I would be all over it for summer carry.. Quote
I.rar Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I like custom model. Wanted the regular at $200 but wife said no. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 9, 2016 Super User Posted February 9, 2016 I have one. I seem to like it just fine. At $200, it is a good get! Jeff 2 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 10, 2016 Super User Posted February 10, 2016 I have one too. For what it is, it's great. It doesn't really fit anyone's hand well but it disappears in a front pocket. Mine has been 100% reliable and I actually shoot it pretty well considering how small it is. 2 Quote

tbone1993 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Great gun that you can carry in almost any outfit. It does tend to fly out of the hand if you don't put a good grip on it. That being said the magazine extender does solve that. There really aren't sights on the standard model so having the crimson trace/ viridian laser is a big plus if you can have it. Its a pocket gun designed to save your butt in a pinch. Haven't had an issue with it aside from a little surface rust and needing a new holster. Quote

I fired one years ago that my brother-in-law owns. I bought these Thursday. In IL, we have a 72 hour waiting period before we can pick up handguns. I won't be taking possession until tomorrow afternoon. 1 Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted February 14, 2016 Super User Posted February 14, 2016 My mother in law has one. Perfect gun for her little hands, and not "snappy" for such a small package. My catchers mitt hands just swallow that thing, so it's not for me. The next size up...the LC9s fit my hands better. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted March 24, 2016 Super User Posted March 24, 2016 Hey Slone I'm a little late but I just saw this thread. I have an LCP that I really like. I added a Houge grip for ~$10.00 that doesn't add much to the grip, but makes the gun more controllable and fun to shoot. It has hundreds of rounds through it without a hiccup. Enjoy! 3 Quote
nick76 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Just picked one up Saturday. At $179 brand new in the box Serial number shows shows it was was a 2015 model. The first time I ever shot an LCP was years ago and I hated it. The trigger was terrible and the gun wanted to jump out of my hand. This newer model has a much improved trigger and better overall comfort/ control. I am really impressed with the improvements Ruger has made. I have ordered a sleeve for the grip to add some bulk and a Clidraw attachment to replace a holster. Only other thing I want to do is add some glow paint to the sight ramps. 1 Quote
crazyjoeclemens Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I know im late to this thread but i figured I'd put my 2 cents in anyway. I bought one for the wife, and I was impressed with accuracy. They shoot great for a compact. I put a laser on it, bought a couple extra mags, and it ended up being my summer carry gun (the wife got a Glock 42 that she prefers). I like it a lot. I have a desantis nemesis pocket holster and an alien gear IWB rig for it. Between the two, I can carry it comfortably, no matter what the occasion. FWIW, I have big paws too (6'5", 280#). The LCP isn't super comfortable to shoot - the trigger guard bites my finger every time (not bad - just enough to be annoying), but it's a compact pistol, not a target pistol. You're gonna have to make some sacrifices. Also, Ruger makes extended mags for it that hold one more round and have a small grip extension on the bottom. It's just enough for me to get one more finger on the grip, and that helps a lot. I say at $200, it's a steal. Id buy it if I didn't already have one. Quote
