Super User Master Bait'r Posted February 9, 2016 Super User Posted February 9, 2016 I love Quabbin so much. Such an incredible body of water, we are very fortunate to have it nearby! 3 Quote

There is no public access to it, and you have to know someone who lives on it to fish it which is why you see a canoe in my photo because I could not launch a boat into this great lake. I had to use what the land owner had available. And since this lake is not very big, paddling around it in a canoe was just fine with me. There is virtually no fishing pressure what so ever on this lake. So very few people ever fish it. I went to college with the son of a land owner on this lake. We were room mates in college and so I have fished this lake off and on for nearly 30 years now. I wish I had property on this lake! Houses on it are pricey, usually in the $300,000 to $500,000 dollar range and there are less than 20 homes on the lake and only on one portion of it as these photos show untouched shoreline. And no, it is not Lake Delancy! 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 9, 2016 Author Super User Posted February 9, 2016 I didn't think it was Delancy but it looks like it could be.It looks more like North grasshopper lake which is about 20 miles s of delancy. Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted February 9, 2016 Super User Posted February 9, 2016 This is me in the canoe on one of my little neighborhood lakes last October. I didn't know that someone had taken this photo until I saw it on the front page of our local weekly newspaper as part of a "why we live here" feature. The photographer must have been using a LONG lens since the dam of this lake was quite a ways behind me. I emailed the newspaper and requested a copy of the digital file. 19 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 9, 2016 Global Moderator Posted February 9, 2016 Not so much the lake, but when topwaterrob took my wife and I out on the Everglades while we were on vacation, these guys made me a little more careful about how close to the edge of the boat I was standing. 10 Quote
