I caught a huge walleye from my local gravel pit this morning...well huge for around here anyway. 27 1\4in...7.6lbs. Got her on a Texas rigged roboworm of all things. Thought about fish sandwiches but she was to big and pretty for that so a quick weight and measure then back she went. 3 Quote

RealtreeByGod Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Is this a rock bass or a warmouth? Either way, it's somehow the first one I've ever caught. 7 Quote

Super User Team9nine Posted October 14, 2021 Super User Posted October 14, 2021 If I’m not chasing bass, you can just about bet I’m chasing these guys instead. Nothing like finding and fishing schools of crappie on structure in deep open water. All my ML bass outfits pull double duty in this regard - just change out spools to the microbraid stuff. From my last two trips... 16 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 17, 2021 Super User Posted October 17, 2021 I found a spot I call “Pickerel Point” at my local river. Plenty of small baitfish in this cove during the fall. Pickerel love ambushing them and any lures that pass their face. 10 Quote
HaydenS Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Second ever flathead, caught my first on the day before. Tried to get a picture of that one, but our boat captain dropped his phone in the water in excitement . 11 Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Hit the lake Friday for a couple hours in the morning, casting and trolling quite a few different baits. Only thing that would commit were these nice crappies on a Flicker Shad Shallow. Decided the river may be a better option in the afternoon. After a brief period of cold rain, I hit a previously high-percentage spot on a S-bend with a combination of sand and rip rap with some good current seams and eddies. The result was 5 smallmouth, none worth a photo, and two nice eater walleyes. All on a coppertreuse TRD. Ate well all weekend! 13 Quote

thediscochef Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Caught (what I estimate to be...couldn't find my scale or grips ☹?) my first double digit drum off the boat ramp tonight. Wind was a solid 30mph, I casted downwind along the shore and got this beauty. I drove to Dallas from Farmington, NM today and just couldn't go to bed without hooking something. I was only at the lake for 30 minutes and this was the fish I caught. 14 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 30, 2021 Super User Posted October 30, 2021 “Pickerel Point” has been that place to beat the skunk for me. After an hour or two trying to find Bass I hike over there to catch some snot rockets and Yellow Perch 11 Quote

Most bass anglers I know hate the d**n things, but then those same anglers would get all excited about the chance to catch a pike. Why would that spot hold so many pickerel? It looks like a large pond, lake? 1 Quote

It looks like a large pond, lake? It’s actually a river. This is a cove around 2 bends of the river and out of the main current. This time of year with the vegetation dying the smaller baitfish are losing their places to hide. Pickerel come to this spot and lie in wait to ambush them. I can always find some here beginning late September. It takes a few casts to find these baitfish. They scatter when my Rapala floating minnow hits the water. Next cast I make is past them a few twitches and jerks of the minnow will usually elicit a reaction from one of the Pickerel that are stalking them. They are fun to catch and put up a great fight. I lose a few of my soft plastics (senko, Storm GT swimbaits, etc) to their teeth. Not to mention blood. They have a uncanny ability to get me with their teeth while thrashing. Glad I carry a first aid kit. Quote
VolFan Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Beautiful fall day out with my son on Mountain Island Lake outside Charlotte - 6 catfish including a couple teeners while dragging. Best way to spend a morning! 16 Quote

Black Hawk Basser Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Bucktail is where it's at right now! As many of us know, it's so satisfying to catch a few on one of our own creations. A couple walleye and 4 little brown bass on a short river outing. 19 Quote

Super User Team9nine Posted November 13, 2021 Super User Posted November 13, 2021 Mon-Wed we had 3 consecutive days in the 60s, so I had to take advantage (some snow in the forecast overnight and tomorrow). Decided to chase crappie with a friend on Mon and Wed. (alt. boat share) and went solo on Tues. I ended the 3 days with 357 crappie total, about 425 in all if you add in my friends totals. Nearly perfect weather, and great company on the water. Will start thinking about bass and walleye more now that the remaining extended weather will mostly be crap from here on out - lol. Water still in the low 50s, so we should have a little bit of time left on open water. 14 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 16, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 16, 2021 Fun thing about Neds and jerkbaits, you get those "other" fish mixed in. I'm going to mess around and break the state record warmouth there one of these days. Caught at least a half dozen of these suckers and if I got bit by one off a dock, there was no bass by it. The other lake I fished this weekend must have just been freshly stocked with wipers, I kept catching these little rats. They sure take off with a jerkbait though. 13 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted November 18, 2021 Super User Posted November 18, 2021 It’s the time of year around here where everything I catch starts with the letter “P” Perch Pickerel and something I haven’t caught in a long time, Pike 14 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 22, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 22, 2021 Biggest redear I've caught in a long time. Not a Lake Havasu freak or anything, but about as big as they get around here. 13 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 29, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 29, 2021 Got drug around in my kayak for awhile Saturday. 8lb test on a ML spinning rod, snagged in the dorsal fin with a #5 shad rap. 24.21lbs. 10 Quote

Had that happen with a similar sized grass carp earlier this year on of all things a ned rig. The fish cleared water several times and stayed hooked until I got it to shore. These kind of incidents just add spice to our sport. Good job. 1 Quote
