This particularly ornery bluegill went after a Rapala J09, 3.5”

Love when they eat bass food

Was the net really necessary for a gill?

Little guy was pulling drag!

I like to flash the net when I fish out of my janky kayak, last thing I need is to go for a swim with a treble buried in my hand LOL

For many, netting is SOP in a kayak.

My son caught this nice sea bass a few days ago and the tail was mangled.  Poor guy.  I hope it grows back.  He still fought like a beast.

I’m the exact same way when I’m fishing out of my yak, especially when I’m pike fishing. I remember 2 years ago I forgot my net, caught a 38” northern that flipped out of my hand and into the bottom of the yak. It had its mouth open when it was thrashing around and I got about a 5” super deep gash from his teeth on my leg that needed stitches. I will never understand why when you get bit by a pike the cut bleeds for like an hour straight, seems like they have something in their mouths that keeps your blood from clotting.

Fish were crushing my homemade bladed jig Thursday, even a crappie got in on the action.

Really slow day, fished from 5am until noon and had one bite. Burning and pausing a trap in 8 fow got this pike to bite. Never really target pike when the water is hot but in always happy when one decides to bite. This is a really little guy for this body Of water but even one this size still has a great build for a pike during the summer, most places you fish the pike will look like a toothpick this time of year.

sorry in advance for assaulting your eyes with my nipple

I caught a Fallfish over half a pound today. Medium light action pole, size 200 reel, 6# line and these jokers fight even after you pull them out of the water.

Every time I see a Fallfish it just reminds me of a huge creek chub and I can't help but wonder how great of flathead bait they'd be.

Wish I had some Flatheads around here to test that theory out. Our local canal is full of Fallfish. In-line spinners and light tackle and you can catch a lot for bait. I would have to check limits and legality first.

Been catching more flatheads on lures this year than I have actually fishing for them.

Pickerel on a Plopper. Quite a rush to see this guy shoot out of cover to hammer the Whopper Plopper.

Found some nice bream beds while I was bass fishing yesterday. I had just made it down to the beds today and  got set up- caught 5 in about 15 minutes and boom ! Here comes an unexpected T-storm! ? Made it home just as the rain started.

Great Pike!

Reminds of a 36-incher I caught, that weighed 8 pounds (Should've weighed ~11 pounds)

I guessed 7-8 lbs, All the pike in the river are skinny. Not sure why as there’s tons of bait.
