It is a perch. I have no idea why I put crappie. I'm not a fish expert.

Me neither, and I've never seen a white perch in person, but I've always heard they look like a small white bass without the stripes.

they are a fun little fish to catch. they don't bite hard but put up a pretty good fight.

First eye I've caught in quite a while this year, on a Duo Rozante 77 jerkbait in 5' of water mixed in with a bunch of smallies.

Was this where I think it was? I caught a bunch there on a jerkbait!

Probably not, this was at Melvern, you guys were on Milford. They do love a jerkbait at Milford though, all but one of these were on a Nishiki 78 pointer.

Our end of the year tournament is on Milford next month, wouldn't mind getting into a few of them then.

Another toothy critter, same lake and same bait as the last one. @gardnerjigman was so fish hungry I was afraid I might see him gnawing on it in the back of the boat like a giant raccoon at some point in the day. Thankfully it made it all the way home before consumption.

No HHI pics?

Didn't end up fishing at all out there, not even with my buddy in Hampton Lake. Wife's grandfather got diagnosed with cancer so we spent as much time with him as possible.

Haven't caught a fish from my pond all summer (not that I've tried hard, but still). Was filling my deer feeder and setting my stand up so I made a few cast with a little plopper and actually had 3 bites but of course this was the only one that hooked up.

I made my last trips on the kayak for fluke this past weekend. The season closes on Sept 22nd and I won’t be able to get out on the yak for one last shot at them because of work. A lot of shorts and a couple more fish which were close but swam off to live another day. Also, some sea robins mixed in. A school of 3-5 bluefish made the day more noteworthy. Went through a couple bags of pink zoom flukes and broke off atleast half a dozen jigs. Nonstop action at one spot, which we left after our arms couldn’t take anymore lol. Goodbye to summer, and hello fall! I’m ready for stripers and Tog.

My new PB snakehead at 5.98lbs, which I am just going to call 6lbs from now on.  @Junger was nice enough to take me out on his boat again and I got it on a frog cast to up next to a beaver lodge.  It was a crazy soft hit, I think Junger noticed it before I did, the frog was just there one moment, gone the next.

LOL, thanks! This particular inlet has been loaded with bait the past few weeks, so the fish are definitely in an aggressive, feeding mood. If only my whole summer was this action-packed.

spent the day bass fishing at a local power plant lake. caught 5 bass in the 1 to 3 lb range.

these 2 fish were the highlight of the day. caught both on a shakyhead.

1 was 11.5 lbs. the other was 9.25 lbs.

while not the target species, I never complain about hooking a large flathead.1505634445_lacat.thumb.jpg.fd031288820db848bba4d853498b0885.jpg

It's that wonderful time of year when the water is cooling, the shad are moving shallow, and every fish in the lake is following them. Never know what the next cast might be. I had good variety this weekend. There was also several drum that are not pictured.

Did he fight hard? ?

Sadly, harder than anything else I hooked all day, excepting one smallie that threw the hook when I reached for the net. At least I landed the clam ?

I caught this footlong Yellow Perch and the slightly smaller one last weekend.  I landed one with a simple worm, bobber, and double split shot rig.  It was hard to bring in.  The fish wasn't aggressive—it just keep nibbling at the bottom of the worm, moving the bobber ever so slowly.  I managed to tease it with the right reeling motion, set the hook, and brought the prize home.  The other I caught while trolling with a Rebel Crickhopper crankbait.

Let's hear it for New York State's Fisheries!

Took my neighbor out for a fish this morning. We managed about 20 bass, no real big ones, but did get into a few decent pike.  Water temps are just about right to find some big ones here now, today it was 55 deg.

Heres a couple of the neighbors better fish he got, none of the ones I got were worthy of a pic.
