DSTN Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Flathead on a crankbait yesterday. My by catch game is taking off. RIP to my Bomber Square A in brown/chartreuse that I caught the cat with. Fell victim to a cast net someone got snagged and left behind. Pretty sure that color is discontinued and I can only find in store at Walmart but it catches fish so time to hunt for more. 5 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 19, 2018 Global Moderator Posted August 19, 2018 Did a little kayak catfishing on the river Friday. I found there comes a point in kayak catfishing when you hook a fish and for a moment aren't really sure who has caught who. 7 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted August 22, 2018 Super User Posted August 22, 2018 I'll apologized in advance for burning your retina but this juvenile Musky is The First One I've caught here. The lake used to have a quite a population back in the day. Recently (a few years ago) DNR began a re-stocking program. Looks like it's working ! This specimen was fat, very healthy and quite a surprise when it rocketed 3 feet in the air next to the boat. Seems a few years from now I may have a legitimate Musky lake very close by - I'm a fan. Super User Team9nine Posted August 25, 2018 Super User Posted August 25, 2018 Left the green fish alone and went after crappie with a good friend on Thursday. Kids back in school and a weekday made the lake pretty enjoyable. Catching just over 300 crappie didn't hurt anything, either. They were grouped up pretty good though as you can tell in the second picture. . 9 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 26, 2018 Global Moderator Posted August 26, 2018 First eye I've caught in quite a while this year, on a Duo Rozante 77 jerkbait in 5' of water mixed in with a bunch of smallies. 8 Quote
Russ E Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 spent the morning dragging a baby brush hog around weed edges on a local City lake. caught several largemouth, then this pig hammered the brush hog. I have caught a lot of bonus white bass in this lake, but I did not know it had wipers. It is my personal best Wiper. 24 inches long 7lb. 4oz. 8 Quote

hawgenvy Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Friends and I had great fun loading the boat with these speckled trout near Titusville a couple of weeks ago. All were over 15". Later, we loaded our stomachs with yummy pan fried trout filets! 10 Quote
wet_dream Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 It’s been a tough fluke season for me in NJ. I’ve been catching tons of shorts and some have been painfully close. It was nice to unexpectedly run into some bluefish and stripers first thing in the morning but I could not manage a fluke for the dinner table once again. Awesome day on the water nonetheless. 10 Quote

Somd Fx4 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 It is a perch. I have no idea why I put crappie. I'm not a fish expert. 1 Quote
