wet_dream Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Tautog aka Blackfish aka White Chins aka Slipper Bass or simply Tog, has been my target species of late. Hard fighting fish and is blast to catch on my lighter spinning gear. The jig has been killer so far for me this season. 9 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 18, 2017 Global Moderator Posted October 18, 2017 A little surprise finding one of these guys in the very back of a cut in 1' of water along a weedline. Thought it was going to be a catfish at first. 10 Quote

Dorado Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Caught this bow deep nymphing the Roaring Fork in Colorado over the weekend. Caught over 30 viscious pre-spawning browns off streamers from a drift boat on the Upper Colorado River the day before. If I wasn't in AZ, I would probably be more addicted to streamer fishing. Such a fun annual trip! 8 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted October 23, 2017 Super User Posted October 23, 2017 Friend and I caught over 250 crappie on a trip late last week - had a great time. Water temps are starting to cool, trees are near their peak colors, and even saw a few bald eagles ? Love fall fishing! 11 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 25, 2017 Global Moderator Posted October 25, 2017 Horrible fishing on Monday for the first few hours before the wind blew and I got called off the lake. Only one fish even worth catching and it was the wrong kind. 5 Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted November 2, 2017 Super User Posted November 2, 2017 Caught my PB Chain Pickerel a few weeks ago. I was topwater fishing with a Bluegill colored 90 Whopper Plopper and she slammed it! 2lbs 7oz 5 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted November 3, 2017 Super User Posted November 3, 2017 The release of my PB Pickerel. Got to get a GoPro. Holding the phone in one hand and releasing in the other isn't the easiest thing. 2 Quote

In all seriousness though they are fun to catch and hit about any lure. 1 Quote
UPSmallie Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 The first 3/4 of October, life was good and the steelhead fishing was easy. Then the salmon finished spawning and the nasty fall cold-front hit. It has been a skunk-fest for the last few weeks. Looking to regroup and change tactics. Should be interesting to see what happens from here up until ice-fishing season. Temperatures look to be <40 from here on out. Did manage these two nice males 10-22 on the pre rapala short wart and magnum wart though. Smaller one was given to the neighbors and the bigger one tasted amazing on the grill. Did also manage to capture both on GoPro, although it looks like I have a scratched lense now. Fish On 7 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 8, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 8, 2017 Giant drum on a finesse jig Monday. Couple of wipers on Keitechs Tuesday. 8 Quote

That's a fish I have yet to have the opportunity to fish for, looks like the fight pretty good. BTW, a bit to the left of you on that same bridge can be a good spot for walleye around June. 1 Quote

AndrewJ Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Shasta Lake has been producing quite a few Rainbow Trout for me lately, with four rainbows caught the past two trips and a fifth one that broke off at the boat. My wife also caught an aggressive blue gill using a ned rig which was a first for us. 8 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 22, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 22, 2017 It was a good weekend for big "other" fish. Monday I had 3 trout over 4 pounds, including a 6.31 and 6.76 pound rainbow off the same spot on the same bait. I'm still not convinced it wasn't the same fish, just not sure how to account for the half a pound it would have had to gain the 5 minutes between catches. Tuesday I was after wipers and they showed up big time. I caught several, had a giant straighten a 4X strong #4 treble on my jigging spoon, and broke my lake PB twice, first with an 8.22, then a crazy fat 9.04. A "little" 6.5 The 8.22 that was almost digesting my jigging rap shad. and the 9.04 that was about as tall as it was long and super thick. 12 Quote

With working nights, really young children, and fishing when do you sleep my friend? 3 Quote

Sunday-Tuesday are my days off so that's when I go. 1 Quote
