Has anyone fished out of a mod v Jon this size? Not really worried about a brand just how this size boat fishes. I mainly fish small lakes and feel this type boat would suit me better and be a lot cheaper when I upgrade. So give me any opinions you have on this. Also I would be going with a tiller outboard.

My last boat was a 1652 VPT Lowe Roughneck. Wasn't fancy, but I caught a ton of fish out of it.

I had it on LOZ, Table Rock, Grand, Beaver, Bull Shoals, Stockton, never had any issues. Had 3 of us in it running around at the Classic on Grand.

I fish out of a Alweld 1652VJT

16' length 52" bottom with a Tohatsu 40 hp

It handles well enough I fish Toledo Bend in it.

1860 Jon is huge & maybe to much for small lakes

Good looking boat Catt. There isn't much price difference in 1860 and smaller boats.

The price difference is in the outboard, mine is rated for a 40 hp the 1860 is rated for a 50-60 hp tiller or 90-115 console.
