I am looking for a 6'6" medium fast action spinner and am pretty sure I want to go with a G Loomis SJR782  The price between the two is only $40.

Thoughts?

I had 2 Loomis SJR 722 rods, one was the IMX, I got rid of it and replaced it with the GL3. Price wasn't a concern since I already had an IMX, for me it had to do with feel. The IMX wasn't much lighter, in fact it wasn't noticeable and it came down to the reel seat, I like the reel seat on the GL3 a lot better which made it more sensitive since I wasn't distracted by the feel of a reel seat that I didn't like. I'm not sure with the new IMX spinning rods, only the classic spin jig so if you are looking at those I can't help.

The imx is a much better blank, and add in the fact you get Alconites with it vurses aluminum oxide with the gl3.

I found some smoking deals on IMX and GLX Jig/Worm Spinning rods, so now I am picking between these two.  I can get my choice of GLX for $282.50 or a IMX for $196.25.  I am thinking about hopping on the GLX.

Sounds like you have your mind made up. Splurge if you can afford to.

Heck your almost up to the NRX price, you might as well go up one more level ;)

Yep, I ordered the GLX.  I am honestly a little tempted to pick up another at this price...

How are you getting the 783 for 307.50?  It has them for like $380 now on the website.  And is there a code you can throw up to get the extra $25 off or do I need to register?

That is the best deal I have ever seen on GLX rods.  They are cheaper than I usually find IMX's.

Just tracked it and my rod will be here tomorrow.  Fast shipping on top of a smoking deal.  Good stuff *!

You boys are really bad influences. Please don't post such good deals in the future. Add me to the list of GLX owners.

OMG I have a Dobyns DX, St Croix Avid X, G Loomis GLX and a Daiwa Zillion all new for this year to fish with. That's quite an offseason.

Only two...lol.  But it has been a struggle everyday.  I just know that if worse comes to worse I can unload them for about what I am paying.  I have seen plenty of used GLX's go for $250+

Any idea why they are blowing them out? Searching GLX's on the Internet I can't find any deals. Over $400 seems to be the going rate.

Absolutely no clue.  It is not extra stock because the one I already received was shipped directly from Shimano to me.  I just know it is a smoking deal.  They are also selling IMXs for ~$200 before the $25 discount.

I have a Chronarch ci4 that will be arriving Tuesday that was begging for the GLX I just ordered...lol
