Luke Dillinger Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 The gears on my baitcaster feel rough when turning the handle. I have cleaned the reel, and I have oiled and lubed it. I need some advice on what my problem might be. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 This too vague to diagnose without seeing it. Dry AR clutches and rough worm gears are sometimes misdiagnosed as main gear problems. Dinged up nylon idler gears can be felt. Truly worn out main and pinion gears are actually fairly rare. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted February 8, 2016 Super User Posted February 8, 2016 Send the reel to DVT. Get a better than new reel back. 1 Quote
Luke Dillinger Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Thanks yall, I will take another look at it but I will most likely send it to DVT. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. If you want to send it in I'll be glad to take a look. Quote

Every reel DVT's serviced for me comes back better than how I sent it. You better hurry though, I'm sending them a couple of my newer reels for cleaning, tuning, and recommended upgrades. 1 Quote
