CJ Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I've tried to keep this one on the down low for awhile but I think another company has caught on but I've only seen the heads for a healthy price of $5/ea. I think it's gonna be a fish catcher! 6 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 8, 2016 Global Moderator Posted February 8, 2016 Kind of like the Northland Whistler jig but a prop on the front instead of behind the head. I'm sure it will work. 1 Quote

Will Wetline Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 First I've gotta tell ya you're tying is immaculate. Now I don't mean to be critical or cantankerous, but it's not quite spybaiting unless your retrieve is dead slow and that lead body is rocking side-to-side. The whirring of the prop may add interest. If I were retrieving it I'd grip the rod firmly because I'd be expecting a big bite! Fine, creative craftsmanship, CJ. 1 Quote

Thanks Will, I won't go as far as to say spybaiting but this lure does have a little tilting and the prop spins fast at a really slow retrieve. The deal for me is to try and stay within the realm of the presentation. If we threw a high action plastic on this head we would be pushing the train both ways(who know's bass might like that) but the spybait is very subtle. Swiming bucktails are just a step above as far as action so I think it fills a hole. It will probably be a few more months(mid May) before we know how well this is going to perform but I think I'm onto to something. It will be up to the fish! Quote
RyanDR Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I just tied a similiar jig, but I didn't like the jig head. I tied it with Greenfish Shin Spin and the collar wasnt good for jig tying. Where did you buy your jig head? 1 Quote

It is a little tight around the collar. Quote
