Super User fishballer06 Posted February 5, 2016 Super User Posted February 5, 2016 I know a lot of guys really value the older Smithwick Rattling Rogues. Today I came across an old shop that had a bunch of the old one's left over. Does anyone know what these are worth, street value, these days? And what makes these old one's so much more valuable? Silas Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Don't know what makes them work but caught a lot of bass in Spring at Toledo Bend on one color only: Black back, gold side, orange belly with black dots on side. Twitch, twitch, pause(a long time sometimes). Found an old one in one of my boxes last week. Brought back great memories of Toledo Bend in its Heyday decades ago! 1 Quote
KDW96 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Thats all i have is the older Smithwicks, a bunch of them. Ive caught fish on them, they are good bait in my opinion. I have changed out the hooks though. I have both the rattlin, and suspending models, in many colors. As far as street value, i dont know? I picked up 30 at a buck apiece years ago, glad i did 1 Quote

tander Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I got old and new and I love both, can't really tell much difference. They are my favorite jerk bait. Quote

Super User scaleface Posted February 6, 2016 Super User Posted February 6, 2016 This is what I have . 2 rattlins , 1 quiet and 1 with a spoonbill . 1 I found and has battle scars. The spoonbill I used once . I weighted the front hook to make it suspend . I want to weight the rest to suspend with Suspendin Dots . Quote

That one doesn't look very old to me. I think the old ones with the diving lip made out of a different material are the valuable ones. I will say that the build quality of rogues has gone way downhill in the past decade. Quote
