Pondboss16 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 what kind of fishing line should i be fishing during the spawn? Quote
SMITTY0045 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Definitely fluorocarbon. And probably on the lighter side as well. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 5, 2016 Super User Posted February 5, 2016 The same line I use all year! 15# Berkley Big Game During the spawn the odds of catching a Hawg vastly increases so you definitely do not wanna go lighter! Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 5, 2016 Super User Posted February 5, 2016 That's a pretty broad question... Where are you located? Spinning or baitcasting? What lures are you fishing? What type of cover are you fishing? Someone in Florida fishing matted grass in stained water is going to need something totally different than a guy in Canada fishing gin clear water with a sandy bottom. Quote

Exactlly...I don't change lines because of the seasons...spawning or weather. I use what I use based on the where's and how's, of what I'm useing. Mike Quote
Super User WRB Posted February 6, 2016 Super User Posted February 6, 2016 The spawning bass don't care if you are there or using rope tied to the lure, if the lure bothers them in or near the nest site they pick it up and move it away from the nest. If the bass is spooky, it's because they see you and not locked onto the nest site. Tom Quote
