Me as well... I have a question on this though, is the rod/reel trade in coupon just for the rods/reels "tagged" in the catalogue or store?  Noticed that in the flyer they tagged all the BPS and offshore angler rods/reels.. But not the other name brands they carry.. Looking to possibly take advantage of the deal this year but I'm not sure if I will if it only applies to BPS branded rods/reels.  I'd probably pick up a pro qualifier or signature series baitcaster but only if that's the only option they give you.

looks like you're onto something. online at the bps site, it looks like abu garcia is offering rebates and free shipping on some of their reels. lews has some deals. we may have to wait til the day the actual sale begins to know for sure. i usually buy the bps painted bullets in bulk during this sale but i've switched to cabelas. bps paint chips away too easy for me. im really gonna load up on the Zoomies and Red Eye Shads though!

I'll go nuts as usual.  With my Tracker card, I'll get 10% anything I buy and 20% anything Bass Pro branded as well as the sale price. Can't beat it

I can't speak to this year, as the rules may have changed. But last year I did a rod trade in when buying a St. Croix and got the discount. So unless the rules have changed you should be able to get the discount with any brand.

You get a trade coupon. Then based on the amount  of the rod/reel you buy.....you will receive the discount. Any rod and any reel.....not combos though.

Ok, thanks for the info everyone.  It makes me a lot more likely to take advantage of the deal if I can get any rod/reel brands I want.

Also, looks like the Pro Qualifier deal is no longer. In years passed, the Pro Qualifier Reel was half price. This year, they are selling the combo as half price. So now they get you for $100 instead of $49.99 for the reel only. It has been such a popular deal, there was a 2 reel limit per customer. Fortunately for me I always carried a pair of Groucho Marx glasses. Too bad about the reels.

So, think this out. BPS tungsten weights are 4.97 in the sale plus tax. Wait until TW 15% sale and Picasso Tungstens are 4.24 with no tax. Bitsy Bug jig BPS 1.69 on sale and at TW 1.44 at 85%. At TW the regular price is 1.69. Seems only way to get a Carbonlite rod on sale is in a combo deal. No Pro Qualifier on sale in my ad.

i do not work for TW. I'm just frugal.

I never saw "tagged" rods and reels for the trade in. Usually they just mention what is excluded like Shimano. I have a rod to trade in for a St Croix but I'll call first to see if they are included before driving there.

Works out well because I have yet to find a reel for my new lipless crank bait rod I got for Christmas. Im sure I will be able to find an Abu Garcia or a Lews to pair it up. I bet I won't be able to find and Ned rigs because they are always out of stock at every single store. And I always forget TW has the,..great now I go from responding to a thread to placing yet another TW order.

I still have $150 left on a TW gift card, bought during the 10% off sale, to spend on the Memorial day sale if I can only wait that long. It started as  $200, and I was going to hold out for Black Friday next year for a maximum possible discount. That plan lasted 2 weeks.  Now it's taking all my willpower to hold out for Memorial day for the rest of it.
