blade Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 What is up with all of ya'll liking senkos so much. Everyone talks about them like they are the best bait there is. I have and do catch fish on them but they don't seem to consistently catch big fish and that is what I look for in a bait. Something along the lines of pig-n-jigs, big worms, creature baits, buzzbait, dd22's, etc. Just wanted to know. Quote
Deuceu72 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Senko's catch big fish all the time. Use the 6 inch or 7 inch variety. In fact, I have had no trouble catching big fish on the 5 inch Senko either. Quote
Red Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 i have tried usig=ng the senko a whole bunch...not even a nibble....power worms are working well for me tho Quote
linesider7 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I agree with you, 5" senkos catch mostly dinks. Never have tried the bigger ones. Quote
jomatty Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 senkos will catch big fish but you are right that they are not what i think of when i think big fish baits. that said they are far and away my most productive lure. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 We catch the largest size class in our lake (very healthy body of water) using the 5's 6's and 7's. Less smaller guys with the 6's and 7's but plenty of hawgs on the 5's also. Wacky only Quote
captaininsaneo Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 i have tried usig=ng the senko a whole bunch...not even a nibble....power worms are working well for me tho slow down!! I know you think you are fishing slow enough, but you're not. I don't care how slow you are going you are not going too slow. sometimes stopping may even do the trick as I have had bass inhale a senko as it sat on the bottom motionless. Also, you need to become an avid line watcher, never lose focus because when you do, you will lose fish. Quote
gatrboy53 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 when the bite is tough a wacky rigged senko type bait is hard to beat.!!be sure to let it fall on a slack line. Quote

Something along the lines of pig-n-jigs, big worms, creature baits, buzzbait, dd22's, etc. Just wanted to know. You know what, you are exactly right. You shouldn't even bother to fish a senko. Just take all the packages of them that you have and send them to me for disposal. They are junk. Worst bait ever made. Can't catch fish of any size. Everyone just put them down and walk away. Oh, and when I'm cashing checks at the end of tournaments, I'm sure it wasn't a 5 or 6 inch watermelon senko I was using. While your at it, don't bother with Fat Ika's or GYCB hula grubs either. Pure garbage, all of it. ;D Quote
