I just got a 6'9 ML Villian spinning rod. I haven't used it yet but it looks and feels great in hand. It seems to be a bit more on the M side than ML but it might be a bit more versatile because of that. I'm very pleased.  Check FFO if you haven't already. I paid $60 for mine. Good luck.

Whats FFO?

The 2.0 series is supposed to be vastly improved over the old version. They went with Fuji reel seats with titanium guides with zirconium inserts so I'm going to guess these are going to come in lighter than the old series. For the price on the old ones at FFO I think it would be a winner, the casting rods weren't raved about but I know there was a decent following for the spinning rods.

Abu Garcia rods are good quality and well build but I was not happy with my villain it was a 7 foot M spinning and it seemed like a 7 foot H casting rod! I returned it. so go lighter than you think

Fisherman's Factory Outlet...I've been eyeballing those Villains for last few weeks

Yeah, I figured $60 was a good deal based on reviews and original retail price being so high. I know the new one's are going to be improved in certain areas but I was looking to spend as little as possible so the point for me was to get the best rod for the best price possible. As another person here said and I mentioned as well, the ml is a little stiffer than your typical ml but thats okay with me since I only have the one spinning set up.  Maybe a bit more versatile.

Yea that's one great deal even if it isn't the 2.0.

I just picked up two 6' 8'' M XFast spinning rods of the 2.0, I can't wait to try them! Abu really does make a good product and over the last year and a half most of my rod purchases are trending towards them. Of course, since they are a Pure Fishing company, their customer service is great.

Like others mentioned, abu tends to run slightly stiffer than most brands for their rating, but, I actually like that.

I have a 7'3 H Villain micro gen 1 and the thing is a broomstick. Nice looking rod and pretty clean build for an Abu but if you're looking for a true medium action rod, the villain (gen 1 anyway) may not be a great choice unless you go lighter like the others are saying.
