The Cal Coast Battle Box is the best way to keep terminal. I can keep everything in separate canisters and pull the canisters I'm using out and put in my pocket. Never have to worry about dividers moving on me. It also comes with round labels to put on the top of the canisters so you can easily see what each on has.

That's pretty cool! Looks like I will make a few of those up.

Pill bottles. If you're a geezer you probably throw them away all the time. They have 3-4 different sizes depending on the pills. Locking covers etc.

As far as boxes (and please remember this old geezer is a very cheap uh... frugal one) I purchase these boxes on Amazon. They are thread organizers. Good hinges and tight clasps and it's not cheap flimsy plastic. The dividers are fixed but there are a few long ones in the center. 46 compartments on two sides. They are about 10"x3x14" and to get an idea of the compartment size, they are often purchased to hold matchbox car collections with room to spare in each compartment. Those are big spools of thread. And about $13 each.

Went down the rabbit hole on Amazon from your post. When I came back up for air, I had this holding my attention: https://www.amazon.com/YUEAON-Containers-Accessory-Transparent-Items-Multi/dp/B07Q4NTLKM/ref=sr_1_53?keywords=Pill+bottle+storage&qid=1581214168&sr=8-53

Well this seems interesting. I bought the “improved version” on amazon today. Will be here tomorrow. I’ll report back once I get it stocked.

I hadn't seen this. You have to know what to ask for for the right things to show up on Amazon. Nice find, especially for the price.

I've found that if you put the word "fishing" in front of it the price doubles. And sometimes you don't need the ones that will survive a fall from an airplane because.... well, you're in a boat.

I picked them up at the local Walmart.

But here's a couple of links.

Thanks for this link. Being that I’m a photographer by trade I’ve always used film canisters. No more film-no more canisters. Bonus is you can see through these

I’ve wrestled with topic for the past few years.  Started with a large bag and 3700 series Plano containers, then 3600 series and then I started feeling like I was making things more difficult than they had to be.  I fish from a boat, from shore and from a kayak.  I only need to take some of my terminal tackle depending on when, where and what I’ll be fishing from.  Best option I came up with is this small tackle bag and I filled it with 2 diffent sizes of the Plano 3400 series boxes.  Each box only has one type of item just different sizes or weights.  Now I either take the whole bag or just what i need.  I haven’t even filled this bag to capacity yet.  I could easily fit three more 3400 boxes or one more 3500 in there.  Best thing I’ve done to date when it comes to my gear.

- 3700 Bass Mafia Box, either double deep or normal size, depending on the amount of tackle you want to store.

- go to the dollar store and purchase cabinet mesh used for holding dishes in place, glue it to the top of the container

- go to the local arts and crafts store and purchase 150+ 2" x 3" craft baggies.

- cut out 2" x 3" notecard from hook packages

- label accordingly

- put the hooks in the baggies and weights and all your other terminal tackle

- remove two dividers from each section of the coffin to make room for the baggies

- organize the baggies accordingly, put bigger hooks on the bottom

- purchase desiccants from amazon, place 1-3 in every compartment.

THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST TERMINAL TACKLE METHOD NO CAP

if you think your system is better I will sue you. I also make an excellent spreadsheet and list every single item in my box

So $30 for the box, and then $35 more to make it work (plus man-hours)?

All we have to do is take all of our items out of the already labelled bags, then put them in different bags and make new labels. Then modify the box so stuff will stay in place by adding some shelf liner, even though everything is in bags, and even though I just paid $30 for this box that should be perfect at that price?

Yes I think my system is better...Plano box for $2.88 at Walmart. Only tiny hooks get under the dividers, but I never use them anyways. Weights stay where they should, snaps stay in their original bags. :) Heck at these prices I could buy a separate box for every hook and still be cheaper, though bulkier I'd imagine.

And you probably can't afford to sue me if you're paying $75 for a box ;) Or maybe that means you can. Just havin' fun.

I use a cheap Berkley binder with individual baggies inside each sleeve.  I carry 3-5 of each hook, weight, jig head.

This is a good easy option and lays to rest, to me, the biggest problem with terminal tackle storage.

To me anyone that doesn't either store their terminal tackle in the original package or transfer it into a separate baggie over putting it loosely in a plano box has never had to throw out 100 dollars in terminal tackle due to rust.

I have tried a rustrictor box and that may help to lessen rust from condensation due to temperature change but it didn't work for me.

the process I am using keeps the terminal tackle from getting wet and therefore no rust.  I try to buy hooks and items I use a lot in bulk, but didn't want to bring 100 5/0 hooks with me.  This seemed to be the best solution for my fishing routine.

Literally spewed my coffee on the computer screen when I read this one.

I'd also vouch for the Bass Mafia, though I don't utilize the baggie system and I use spreadsheets way too much at work to be that anal about my tackle.

Not saying that it isn't necessary though, please don't sue me......

Easy buddy, I knew it was a joke. I thought it was quite funny.

I really like the idea with the baggies, I hadn't thought of that. This would give more flexibility and the ability to keep everything even further separated.

I bought the Flambeau Zerust Tabs for mine. Just cut them to smaller size and they seem to work pretty well.

im off at school right now so I don't have pictures of my most up to date system, but ill link the few I do have

https://imgur.com/a/IhFvcip

basically I have all my ewg hooks up top left, I have superline and normal and light wire in each of 1/0 - 5/0

in the compartments I have:

- all my finesse hooks in various sizes

- trailer hooks, flipping hooks, round bends, misc hooks that see little use but have a specific purpose

- all my tungsten worm weights

- all my tungsten drop shot weights

- Swimbait hooks

- Swimbait jig heads

- ned rigs and shaker head etc

like I said, this isn't my current setup but its similar, I keep all my extra hooks in a little Tupperware and refill when needed, that way im not carrying too much of each hook. this also helps me stay visually and mentally organized

Can't say for sure ~ Perhaps post a picture ?

I will say that I always 'wrap' the bands around both trebles a couple of three times.

Just enough to keep them secured & not flopping all over.

If that doesn't do it let me know And I'll post a few close up pics here of what I'm referring to.

btw - 3 treble baits like jerkbaits & top water plugs require a little creativity.

Guess I'll post a few pics anyway -

Give me a few - brb . . .

OK, I know what I have to do now, thanks. The BM Deep is not going to cut it on the kayak, too big and hard to handle reaching behind the seat. I'm going back to the Plano 3700 deep like I was using before. I'll have the BM stored up front in the hatch.
