Hi all!

I am in the process of saving to get a Metanium probably from overseas. While browsing I noticed they also have a Metanium with the digital control system. Just wanted some feedback if it's worth getting the DC version?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to review this thread from 2 weeks ago that posed the identical question: Metanium or Metanium DC

To answer your question, it depends on the type of presentations that you prefer and the conditions that you typically fish in. The standard Metanium is an outstanding reel - suitable for just about any presentation. The Met DC has the edge when fishing a lot in windy conditions, especially when using baits that catch the wind like spinnerbaits. Plus, fishing a DC reel is just fun - see this current thread What's So Good About DC.

I have both the standard Met and the Met DC and like them both.  However, only you can decide if the Met DC is worth the extra bucks for you.

As part of your decision - you might want to read this review of the Met DC:  Shimano Metanium Dc Reel - Initial Review / Impressions

Shimano Digital Control (DC) braking is a type of braking system, just as centrifugal and magnetic are types of braking systems.  One can can choose to use technology, or not. One can choose to use a braking system on a baitcasting reel, or not.

Just fish...;)

Thats kind of like saying "why bother with antilock brakes, you probably just suck at driving" when there's a perfectly good reason it exists and it's called weather.

Anybody who who uses a DC reel will still use their thumb, DC is just the best way to fight against wind knots and get the best casting distance you can.  You simply cannot sample spool and lure speed a thousand times per second in exact mathematical terms the way a DC reel can.
