I read BR often, but always via the same route:

1. "View New Content"

2. Scroll to bottom

3.  "Load more activity"

4.  Scroll down some more

5.  Open a thread

6.  Hit 'Back' button

And then, here's where I have a problem/complaint.  Instead of being returned to unread page with 'more activity' loaded at the bottom, I'm back to 'unread/new content', with only the top 25 newest threads again.  If I want to go back to where I was when I clicked open the thread, I need to hit 'Load more activity' again....sometimes many, many times, if I've gotten deep into the new content page.  Minor annoyance on desktop.  But on mobile, it is slow and tedious enough so as to discourage me from looking through all 'new content'.

Am I doing something wrong?  Everyone else have this problem?  Something that can be 'done' about this?

I'm not sure why you go through all that, or what you are looking for when you open BR.

My computer is set up so that BR opens to the forum section when I click on the shortcut.

Then I can easily scroll to the section(s, and topic(s) of interest.

Since earliest days I can remember, I've always had a deep-seated fear of missing out on something....lol

So, I prefer to scroll through the most recent posts...all of them.  I have only VERY rarely opened a sub-forum....Flea Market, maybe.

I do this also. I load new content and scroll thru it. I do like to follow threads so will check those individually sometimes.

Ctrl - click the link - in many browsers, this opens the link you hit to open in a new window.  List in one tab, topics each get another tab.

I have the same annoying issue as you. Go in a thread and when back out goes to top of posts instead of where you entered

Plus it doesnt actually show "just" the posts since last visit but  keeps loading more activity.

If I leave site for 3 hours( and say 30 posts where made) and come back it should show only those 30 posts but it doesnt work that way now, it used to with the old site.

Ive resulted to marking all posts read just before I leave so when I come back  posts freshly made are BOLD

Yeah, phone has never been great.  There should be an option to show only "unread posts" instead of all.  Admittedly, I'm a rookie on the new app, too.

I have the same issue. I couldn't find a view new content button, so set something up in the activity tab that allows you to have a new content option. The not going back to where you were thing (once you've scrolled past the first 25) is a pain in the backside and I definitely look at less content than I did before the site changed.

I always just go through the sub-forums. Never really had an issue with this.

Okay, try this.  When you are on the "View new content page", and have cycled through them, rather than hitting the back button on the page, refresh that page by pushing the F5 key on the top row of your keyboard.  It should just refresh that page without going back or opening a different page.

I really hope this isn't going to turn into another "How to send JFrancho a PM" thread

Guys -

Click above "Activity" , "My activity streams", then "create new stream". You can create a custom view, for example a view of of just "unread content since last visit".

Play around with it.  It's there so you can create your own custom "feeds".  You can then save it, keep it just for you, share with friends, or make it public for everyone else to see.

I've done that Glen, and it works well. The issue is that when you've scrolled past the first 25 in the new content and press the "show more" or whatever it says to get the next batch of new posts up. If you then click on one of those posts and read it, then press the back button, you go to the end of the first 25 new posts, not to where you were when you read the post, if that makes sense?

Basically every time you go back you have to scroll down through all the posts you've gone past and press the show more button as many times as it takes to get you back to where you were.
