kcdinkerz Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 So what brand and colors/ flavors do you guys like best? My all time favorite is berkly pb in original yellow. Don't know why but the other colors just doesn't produce as many bites as that yellow. Feel free to chime in if you got recipes you'd like to share. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted January 30, 2016 Super User Posted January 30, 2016 Haven't trout fished in a while, but I would use the Berkeley glitter green or glitter chartreuse with added silver glitter from Walmart. An inflated nightcrawler on a sliding sinker rig for lake fishing on 4lb test was the ticket back in the day.... 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 31, 2016 Global Moderator Posted January 31, 2016 I don't use doughbait. Closest thing is Gulp eggs. I've had good luck with 1 white and 1 pink on a hook but I'd almost rather not fish than resort to using them. Thankfully I haven't needed them for the last several trout seasons. 4 Quote

Hope all is well. Ned rig I do the same as I do for bass. The micro jig I fish a few feet under a small bobber and let the waves work the bait or give it little twitches if it's really calm. 1 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted February 15, 2016 Super User Posted February 15, 2016 Salmon Peach Powerbait is all the rage with the stock truck followin' 12lb test 1/2oz weight plunkin' folks around here haha. Seriously, I work at Gander Mountain and we are stocking several hundred jars of that color on the shelves this spring, one guy has already placed 20 jars on hold for himself. I quit using dough and went to power eggs a while ago, they are hard to find but way easier to use and IMO catch more fish. Quote
