I am a new bass fishermen who fishes in minnesota. I am looking for a new casting rod for this bass season mostly to learn on but i already know how to fish bass i just want to get better on it. My price range is about 50$-110$ and i want a nice rod. I also have never used a baitcaster so i have hopes of learning to use one on this rod. I am thinking of the cabelas bass tournament ZX casting rod for jig and worm but i would like a second opinion before i go buying a rod. (I am very experienced in northern, ice fishing, and panfishing so i am not clueless)

Your best bet to get the best rod for your money is definitely buying used. sounds like you are going to be starting out with one rod so I would recommend something along the lines of a used G Loomis MBR843 IMX or St Croix Avid 7' MH/F. Both are great multipurpose rods and I have seen them both sell for under $100

If you don't want to buy used there are a bunch of similar threads covering this topic:

I don't know what part of Minnesota you are in but there is a Loomis GL2 on Craigslist in Bemidji for $35. Same seller has a couple Lews reels for 35-75 depending on model and ratio.

You our could have a pretty good rod and reel set up for ~$70.

I would probably look into it if I wasn't so far away
