I currently have a Lowrance Elite 5 on my boat that I have mounted to my trolling motor and am looking to upgrade the finder that came with the boat mounted to the steering column.

I have the chance to get another Elite 5 and I was wondering if there is a way to link up both finders so that they both read off a single transducer?

Unless your driving around with your trolling motor deployed why would you want to do this?

I run the trolling motor in the front and have the monitor mounted there.  My dad fishes out of the seat in the back and I want him to be able to see what's going on as well.

The finder currently mounted on the steering console is visible from where he sits in the boat but it's hard to see as it's an old model and not very detailed or bright.

Actually, thanks for he comment; that does make sense!

Haha, my fault for not thinking this through a little more.  Thanks again!

You can link both Elite 5's together, but like mentioned you won't have any picture on that console unit unless you're using the trolling motor if you want to use the same transducer otherwise you can hook up another Elite 5 and have it run off a stern transducer and then he can see what's under him.
