-Should i use balsa or bass wood for my swimbaits, i think i might be carving them just with a knife (is that easy?)?

What kind of epoxy, the devcon 2 ton? If so is that sold at like walmart or do i gotta go to like a hobby shop?

Negative. Check craft stores or hardware stores. If you have a Michael's near you, they sell carving products for dirt cheap (plus you may be able to find a 40 to 50% off coupon for Michaels, they always have one available).

i get my basswood at walmart. its in the craft section and it comes in little 5x7" plaques. the thickness is 3/8" which i like for my swimmers. sometimes i'll laminate two pieces together if i want a fatter bait. 97 cents a plaque and i can get about 4 swimbaits out of a plaque ;) and yeah devcon 2 ton epoxy is good for installing hardware, walmart doesn't carry it anymore but local hardware stores should.

My WalMart doesn't have any wood... Jerks! That's some cheap wood you got there :)
