So the green NRX rods are on sale and at Monster it says the green ones are being discontinued, is this correct? If so I'm gonna die, was getting ready to purchase some in a wk or two. I had one in the blue and sold it.

Yes - discontinued. A number of sellers have had them on clearance for a while, including Monster. Some green models are sold out (like the 894C), at least at the places that I checked.  If you like green...you better shop and buy SOON...

Your best bet is to hurry up on making that purchase & hope that the specific models you want are still available.

I can't believe that they sell more blue than green? Almost everyone I see on here is green.

Maybe there coming out w a new model of the NRX? They have recently changed the IMX to black. What do you think? I'm so ticked lol I won't have the money for a wk or two and I will not buy them in blue lol.

I was thinking about buying either a Loomis MBR 844C GLX or the comparible NRX.

To those of you who know about these rods would you run and get the NRX or just stick to the GLX line again.  I have a 843C and really like but I'm wanting to go get another for bottom contact presentation's. The 843C is a little to soft for me.

I was gonna start a separate thread but thought Id just ask on this one

Thanks

Mike

OP - gonna drift OT for a bit...

Mike - there is no MBR 844 in the NRX series so you don't really have a decision to make - if you want the best current model MBR 844...then it's the GLX.

However, if you are intending to use it for mostly bottom contact - why not consider the JWR series where you have more choices in length and power ?  The MBRs are certainly great, all-around rods and that soft tip that you mentioned is part of what gives them that versatility. But if you are dedicating the rod to bottom contact, the JWR series might be what you want.

Thanks Goose! That's exactly what I needed to know.

OP, I apologize for the high jack.

Never a problem lol.

Well according to the Loomis rep it's just gonna be the blue from here out, that really sucks!

Yeah it does.  Should have canned the "looks like every other rod out there" blue IMO.

I guess I am the other way around.  I prefer the blue wraps.   I like the polished unfinished blanks over the painted and cleared.  No one uses the same color blue as the NRX and I find them very distinguishable among other rods.    The green is the same all the way through the Shimano line and does not stand out at all.

I have noticed a lot of blue NRX on sale lately as well, so I wonder if they aren't coming out with a new design of NRX as asked above?  I am also slightly disappointed if the greens are becoming discontinued, because it offered a little variety.  I own one of each color and I liked the green best.

I have a couple of each and have to say my favorite is the green NRX with a Curado e7... I smile every time I get to fish with that combo.

They're probly gonna launch new ones at the Classic or Icast.

The rep made me feel as if they may launch a new NRX but it's gonna be in the blue : (
