Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 29, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 29, 2016 I appreciate it.They don't wake me up every night but enough to just annoy me.Its just a part of the whole aggravation. There was a big glob of poop on the front of the house this morning and I read where they poop 4 pounds per bird per day.No wonder the weeds explode every may.Plenty of fertilizer! The good thing is that they leave for awhile so we get a break. . Super User WRB Posted January 29, 2016 Super User Posted January 29, 2016 I have hunted water fowl all my life and have a special appreciation for Canadian geese. These majestic birds are very smart, watch out for each other and like swans mate for life. The more their habitate dissapears, wet lands surrounded by housing developments conflicts between wild animals and humans increases. Appriciate what you, nothing is more inspiring than the call of honkers, enjoy them. Geeses and ducks both migrate, usually not year around residents. Flashing foil streamers work to chase off water fowl. Be glad you don't have thousands of crows and Ravens to deal with year around, nothing about crows is pleasant. Tom 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 29, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 29, 2016 That's a positive outlook there.I wouldn't mind a few of them but theres50 or 60 by my best estimate. We have a few mallards, barred owls, hawks, ospreys, herons, cormorants and the list goes on.There's just way too many geese to appreciate them much. When they come in at dark it sounds like someone is forcing 100 donkeys to sit on cactuses. Not an exaggeration. . Over thinking this! Scuba gear, with plastic gator head sewn onto scuba head piece, swim up underneath them, grab their flippers, drag them down below surface, stuff them into big casting net, (try boat anchor w/quick-release knot), AnimatedKnots.com, swim back to your property and pull rope & Dinner. Hunting sites can help on recipes. If, it's again the law? Tell the cops, you are with HOOK-N-LOOK, TV. 1 Quote

Pondboss16 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I had the same problem at my pond, I just bought a dog decoy and sat it out on the back porch, there are no more geese within a 2 miles radius 1 Quote
