Ghostshad Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 What is your favorite pattle tail trailer for a swim jig ? God Bless & Thanks Quote
Scarborough817 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 keitech swing impact fat seems to be the favourite around here. i like the strike king swimming caffeine shad as well as the bass pro version of the keitech since i can't find them locally edit: i also forgot the rage tail menace rigged sideways Quote
boostr Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 A Rage Tail Craw or Chunk threaded sideways works well too. Quote

alzun664 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I have tried the Keitech Swing Impacts but they didn't have as much action as I expected. I should have gone for the Swing Impact Fats instead. That said I use a Zoom Fat Albert Grub on all my swim jigs now since they're much cheaper and more readily available. 2 Quote

dwtaylor Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Depends. Sometimes it's a kalins grub if I want to fish the lower 3rd of the water column. Or a strike king menace (most used) if I want to fish the middle of the water column. Or a skinny dipper if I want to fish the upper portion of the water column. In my opinion, the swimbait trailer is the least versatile on a swim jig because of the lift. The menace fishes well deeper like the kalins, but has a little more lift so in order to fish it faster and deeper, you have to upsize on head size. I use 1/4 oz Brovarney or Lethal Weapon Lures' swim jigs 90% of the time. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted January 25, 2016 Super User Posted January 25, 2016 I'm partial to the Rage Menace Grub as well as the Rage Craw. Quote
camman Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Reaction Innovations Little Dipper, Strike King Menace, and any 5" grub Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted January 26, 2016 Super User Posted January 26, 2016 So far the only one I have had success with is a Northland mimic minnow. But like others a grub is my go to, Kalins is my brand. I did pick up some smash tech baits smash tail paddle tail baits that I am excited to give a toss this year, but May is a long way away Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 26, 2016 Super User Posted January 26, 2016 For paddletail I like: Keitech 3.8 fat impact on a Cali swim jig Keitech 4 inch swing impact on a bullet or northern swim jig RI big dipper and little dipper depending upon jig size Missle baits shock wave Yamamoto swim senko cut down some Have a few others I am testing but the above are my staple Quote
Airman4754 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 For my 3/4 I use Roboworm EZ-Shads, Big Hammers, and 6" Kalin grubs. For 1/2 it's 4" GYCB swimbait or Kalin 4" grubs. Anything smaller are Havoc Grass Pigs or Havoc double tail grubs. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted January 26, 2016 Super User Posted January 26, 2016 Swimmin fluke jr pairs up nicely with a strike king swim jig Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 26, 2016 Super User Posted January 26, 2016 It all depends on what the bass want. I play around with different trailers until I find one that works. Quote
trupp30 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I have been using the Rage Menace grub, and have had very good results. I plan on trying the 3.8" Kietech fat impact this year. Quote

I had always thought of that thing as a finesse bait, but man that thing has some violent action. Almost had forgotten about that one, but will be a must try in dirty water to call in the fish or clear water when they want a bait that pushes a lot of water. Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted January 26, 2016 Super User Posted January 26, 2016 The following videos may be of interest to you Unfortunately my budget did not allow me to test more than I did, but some more common minus the Keitech are in there. 1 Quote
