Turtle135 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I know Gitzit makes a good thin walled tube, any other brands out there? I am looking for a tube that is soft and collapses very easily for a particular presentation I plan to experiment with. Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted January 25, 2016 Super User Posted January 25, 2016 The Bass Pro Shops tender tubes are exactly that, very thin and pliable, also don't last long because of it. They do catch fish though and I carry some in my box. I personally like rigging them on a slider spider head. 1 Quote
DCales84 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 My personal best smallmouth came on a Cabin Creek tube. They are thin and I normally texas rig them on a 1/0 EWG hook. They can also be bought in bulk packs from some merchants which can save a few bucks. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Cabin_Creek_4_Salty_Critter_Hand_Dipped_Tubes_8pk/descpage-CCFD.html#multiview 1 Quote

Turtle135 Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 excellent! appreciate the suggestions, that will give me a good option for a 3.5" and a 4.0" tube (I like that "Dirty Dark Green Pumpkin" color on the Cabin Creek) Quote
mrmacwvu1 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 If you ever get a chance try the smoke purple. It is a killer. 1 Quote

Personally, I use the salty critter jr. It's 2.5 inches and works amazingly for me here on river smallies. Plus, free Shipping on their site is awesome! It's why I even found the brand, heard good things and figured i may as well try a bag since it's free shipping. The rest is history. 1 Quote
Airman4754 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 The Cabin Creek tubes are awesome. I caught atleast 200 smallies on them last year. I've had success with Gitzit, Cabin Creek, and Berkley Power Tubes. I honestly can't tell a difference between the three. It's just whatever is cheaper and easier to source when I need to order them. 2 Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted January 31, 2016 Super User Posted January 31, 2016 Well.. I was going to say Gitzit -thinnest I know. I've just got some Zman ElaZtech tubes which are very soft but not necessarily as thin walled as a Gitzit. 1 Quote
BaitMonkey1984 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Not the thinnest material wise, but the Havoc Smash Tubes are a different shape which permits the hook to come through the bait much easier than a standard tube. May work for you, depending upon what presentation your looking to use. 1 Quote

On your rec, I just ordered 4 packs for $9.00 shipped. I used to use these years ago with the Shaw Grigsby hook with a keeper made especially for tubes. Put one of those small weights with a loop , inside the Gitzit. 1 Quote
