I'm looking for some suggestions for a casting rod around the $150 mark that that will mainly be for 5" hollow body swim baits but also 5" senkos, flukes and jigs. I'd prefer around 7' and will be paired with a scorpion 1001xt.

Irod, st croix NEW mojos. Gander Mountian Elite series. The gmountian is made by a quality company, 40 ton graphite blanks. Comparable to 200+ dollar rods.

There is a bunch of good reading in this topic. It is even broken up into different price ranges and numerous topics for rods under $150

I would recommend the Tatula rod as well. You can get the Tatula 6ft10in MH for $95 free shipping at Red's gear after using the code "RED10DEAL" or the 7ft2in H for around $110. I ordered mine a few days ago, so I'm still waiting on it.

That Okuma looks nice and has positive reviews. I'll definitely look into it.

As much as I used to not care, I would kind of like the rod to go with the red color of the scorpion at least a little bit.

I do keep coming back to the the phenix recon (love my 682) , m1 series and even the Croix avid if I can convince myself to spend the extra.

This will be my first year really getting into hollow bodies and jigs and would like to have the rod fish both comfortably.

If you can wait, I would wait for the 15-20% off sale at TW and pick up a St Croix Avid X.

That'd make for a nice looking combo!

Savvy 703/4 or 733/4. It's would look d**n good with the scorpion too.

Note that I think Dobyns runs a bit heavier than average. I think the rod for you will be the 703, but if you have questions about the other ones, go ahead and PM me!

duckett micro magic (150) or ghost (100) both awesome and best bang for buck in my opinion

also the micro magic red would look sweet
