Scott A Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 This is a frog rod I just completed. Its a Castaway BB1 cut down to 7'3", American Tackle #4 NBRLMG spiral wrapped http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0d824b3127ccefa1f6d539d6300000030O00AcNHLFk3cMWYPbz4C/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/' alt='ry%3D400'> Quote
FishingBuds Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 yes thats a clean build cut down? did you take the 3" off? Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 6, 2010 Super User Posted June 6, 2010 Looks Great! I like that reel seat a lot, I may try that one out on my next build this winter. I like PacBay products, but havn't seen that particular reel seat, where did you get that? Good luck with it. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Do you build for customers? I may be interested! Quote
Scott A Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 I cut 3" off the butt of the rod. Originally, it was 7'-6". Here is a link to the reel seat at the bottom of the page http://swamplandtackle.com/products.asp?cat=34. Give Lance a call and he will hook you up and instruct you anyway he can. I have been building for friends and family only so far and haven't figured up a price list yet. I should branch out a little in the near future. Quote
rubba bubba Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I like the cork mix you put on there, and your Hoochee decal. Very nice work. Quote
Fat-G Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Dude I'm with Dink. PM me when you come up with a price. Quote
hmongkidBee Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 that's a nice looking rod. Hope it catches as many fish as it catches people's eyes. Quote
BassThumb Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 That's cool. I like how much of the blank is exposed under the reel seat. Quote
Scott A Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 that's a nice looking rod. Hope it catches as many fish as it catches people's eyes. It works very well. The BB1 blank is actually a flippin blank designed for Terry Scroggins before he went to Carrot Stix. It is a very versital blank. From what I've read many guys are using it for Carolina Rigs also. The frog bite has slowed for me so I have switched line to #17 mono and using it as a pitchin' rod with brush hogs and such. I'm seriously considering building myself a couple more. Quote
