Brand New Tracker Pro190 W/90 Mercury, came with black and white lowrance 3: 99.00... Opinions on Garmin, Raymarine, Lowrance. Dealer told me that the wiring may work if I upgraded to a lowrance unit, but I was really wanting to do this just once since the cost of units only range 400-2000 dollars not counting new wiring, labor and upgrading the 45 thrust trolling motor that came with it. I will also need to upgrade from 12 volt to 24 volt to get 80 thrust and those are 1600 ish.... chargers 2bank to 3 bank etc, only enough room for two trolling batteries in back with one cranking battery. Boat is in South Carolina for the winter, so if I could trouble you boaters to share what worked for you, I'm sure others wanting to do some of this upgrades would benefit from our communications.. Oh, If anyone Had an EXTRA 5000 dollars laying around, I'd take ya fishing ... Also need power poles. Thanks my new Buds        P.S. Thinking as if everything cost one dollar what would your #1, #2, and #3 be.

I have the same Lowrance. Leave it mounted next to the console, and mount the new at the bow. I am leaning toward a Hummingbird. You can do the wiring yourself. It's not too hard.

Hey, thanks. that one is temp and depth only, structure and fish finder good for fishing off back deck. I'm always hopping back and forth to check. I bigger unit with sonar and other feature for fish locating would be nice. So you do you have to run them networking together? HUMMINGBIRD units looked like the Graphics were good, Do you like one over another? Really not thinking of touch screen for bow mounted, thanks again for your answer

I have Lowrance.  But the Hummingbirds or Ray Marine are the bomb!

Thanks for the input. What unit/model would be best for bow, that has really good sonar/fish finder that would work without up-grading trolling motor at installation. Thinking of holding off on trolling motor upgrade to free up some funds to get better unit, right out the gate and keeping from trying to sell used unit later, does one hold it's value more then another? And would I have to upgrade battery system from 12 volt to 24 volt?

Garmins offerings are vastly superior to Lowrance and Humminbird right now.

I don't know about Raymarine.

Do you have a Garmin with SideVu?

If so, post some screen shots with at least 100' of bottom coverage in less than 2' depths.

While you are producing those screen shots, include some in water over 20' deep with no water column displayed on SideVu that would make it a good SAR tool.

You may convince me to try one.
