I'll let you know when My flight from Orlando lands in Boston ....

From what I've been told by family, we only got a few inches. Should be shovelled and on the couch by kick-off ?????

Between 30" and 36" at various spots around my house here in MD.  I don't know if this is more than we got back in 2010 or not, but that was 2 storms back to back, this is definitely the most I've seen in 1...I haven't been here my whole life though.  The snow drifts are huge, some around my house are 4 or 5 feet at least.

I'm just glad I triple-covered my boat, should be OK once I can dig it out...It won't see the water for a while now I'm sure :(.

Total close to 10" outside Richmond, VA. This picture was taken Sunday, and after my first shoveling at about 4-5" or so, a second storm came Saturday and dropped another 5-6" which I shoveled after this pic.

For us in lower VA this might as well as been 5' because everything is shut down.

What little snow we had melted yesterday when it got up to almost 50 :D Looks like we might have open water by the end of this week and for sure next week if the forecast holds.

We got above 30", thankful we didn't get the high winds, we did get gusts upwards 20+mph but mostly 8 to 15, lost the high side of my gear box in the ol' 2010 John Deere, time to retire that ol' girl.

at least 12" here in mechanicsville but it is hard to tell actual totals because it was so windy and it was blowing around like crazy.  I know the corners of my fences have solid 5' drifts.

My street is ridiculously bad still, i'll be surprised if schools are opened any sooner than thursday

Put some lights on the house to go with the wreaths and you've got a Christmas Card, or a photo for a calendar (January or February).

Read the article.  I'm curious about one thing.

Why do they think snow gets heavier when it melts?

because they're from kentucky.

It looks like that is a time exposure, taken on a clear night with a full moon.  The lighter, far horizon seems to be the last vestiges of light on the horizon at sunset.

It the source of light for the photo was the sun, then the surrounding trees would be lit up.  But they are dark.  The house and the surrounding snow being white does a good job of reflecting the moonlight.

The trees, not so much.

Thank you all for comments, it is much appreciated. We had taken lights off a couple weeks ago and I haven't got around to taken down wreaths.

And it was my wife's idea to take photo as she does want to use them for Christmas Cards next year.

Very poetic and I only wish true. It was actually taken around 11am with digital camera. I just point and shoot it as I can't figure out all the settings.

Sometimes, that works best.  Apparently the exposure is center weighted, meaning that it makes the best exposure for the center.  The bright sun reflection from the house automatically set it with a fast shutter speed, which is why the sky, trees and surrounding areas are underexposed.

Apparently, you are like me.  Take a lot of pictures and end up with a few good ones.  In this case, an outstanding photo.
