Temp is 26 with a high supposed to be 28... No power loss for us here either and directv is still going strong lol

I am just hoping that i can get another day or two off school when it is all said and done :)

1 to 3 inches of snow per hour here on Long Island.

6 inches already,  winds 25 to 50 mph.

Snow drifts 3 to 5 ft. Expected

 Coastal  flooding also a problem.

1 to 2 ft total snow expected.

Ending sometime early Sunday morning.

Not good.

I'm way farther south than you guys, but we've got about 6" of snow and about 2 of ice.

We got 6-7" yesterday followed by sleet most of night, up to 3-5" expected today.

Last night we had to drive 50 minutes to small rural area. Left 9pm got their 11'ish. We helped a jeep CJ get out of ditch. On way back helped another car get unstuck. VDOT did nice job keeping main roads open but secondary and side were really bad. I have a 1.5 ton jeep grand cherokee with all terrain tires and it did great, no problems what so ever but was going well below speed limit, very very few people out there.

I keep 2 sets of rescue tracks and tow rope in my jeep year round and yesterday they saved the day for a few people. We saw a couple cars being pulled out and 1 JGC.  It was a lot of fun driving though the snow and I love testing my 4-wheel drive in bad conditions.

Nothing yet in the way of precipitation, but the wind is increasing.

This afternoon and tonight four to eight inches of snow is in the forecast.

We are around 24 inches, with as many hours as we have left we will be in the 30 inch range.

The fence in the pic is 5ft

Down in Yorktown we got about 3" then
sleet, then rain. Oddly, still have snow cover,
despite all the heavy rains last night. Thought
it would have been gone by the AM.

Sleeting now, turning to snow any time.

1-3" more predicted.

You probably already knew this, but the flag is supposed to be taken down at dark unless it's illuminated by it's own light.

about 18 inches

will say that the city was very well prepared and the roads are decent enough to drive if you are not an idiot

I have power, cable, beer and bourbon

I have a roast in the crockpot

Think I am just going to chill out today

So there shouldn't be many cars on the road.

Still snowing pretty hard her in central VA.  With all the wind it is hard to say how much new snow we have gotten today.  I do know that where we played in the backyard yesterday looks like we never stepped foot back there.

In Richmond, VA, we have at least 8-inches and it is still snowing.

Son called us on Thursday night with a wonderful offer of having both grandkids stay with us Friday since school was closed and he and his wife would stay at home and work and frolic around the house without any clothes on.

Knowing that the roads would be closed and the three roads leading to our property would be unpassable due to the snow on both Saturday and Sunday, we quickly decided that it was best they stay in the boonies at their own home for the weekend and enjoy being a family.

So we dodged that bullet.

Wife is quilting and I just finished putting all of the 500 pounds of tackle I took off the boat earlier in the week back in place for this spring. Took me from 8 to 2 to get it done. Now to strip the reels and put them, along with the rods, away. I surrender to the notion that I am not fishing until March at the earliest and probably into April if I can stand it.

Even in that storm last year where we got all that snow out where I am in Orleans county we didn't even get a dusting. I remember being all excited to hunt in the snow and we litterly had green grass well 30 minutes west was seriously buried.

My sister moved to VA a few months ago and posted on FB about being stranded at home in her apartment. Told her she's been out of WNY not even 6 months and forgot how to drive in the snow and she has a awd "suv"

Somewhere around 30 inches dropped I think. haven't even seen the wind speed drop below 15mph. I have 5 foot mounts from the wind gusts

I figured you were, just surprised at the number of tattered, unlit flags I see daily.
