andamtoft Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Can this be done? If so how big of a project is it? Any info on this would be excellent, thanks guys! -and Quote
BobP Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I haven't heard of anyone doing this and doubt it could be done at reasonable cost with reasonable results. If you want a 2 piece, get a 2 piece blank - it will probably be a lot cheaper and better. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 20, 2010 Super User Posted June 20, 2010 And, why destroy a good rod? Suggest investing in a two piece rod. Remember, the blank is manufactured to perform as a one piece rod so if you break it in half you will be destroying the backbone and its strength. Good question and thanks for asking for our input. Crookedneck Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 It can be done. With good results. You would have to used purchased ferules. And, any modification would void any manufactures warranty on the original blank. I myself won't do it and won't do it for customers. There are just to many other blank options out there that should fit the bill. Mike Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 You might want to check out the MHX 2 piece travel blanks. I've used the one piece with great results. Quote
