MikeOGNR Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Will be in Daytona beach for a week willing to drive. To Orlando area to fish for some of those central Florida pigs. Anyone got any spots where someone could bank fish. Quote
BassObsessed Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Orlando area is loaded with roadside and shopping mall ponds. Go give em a try. Quote

Thank you as we'll I'll look on google earth too Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 23, 2016 Super User Posted January 23, 2016 I will be fishing the Disney ponds the first week of February with my son and his family on a pontoon boat. Wife will stay in the apartment. Also planning to fish from the bank with rented rods and reels. Can't wait. Quote
chitura Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Read the other central florida post, there is some info on there. You can also try turkey lake park, I believe they charge a few bucks to get in. They also rent boats, but you must make reservations. 1 Quote

I live in the northeast but have caught alot of giants while on vacation just stumbling across some nice neighborhood ponds. 1 Quote

Are a lot of these neighborhoods private or have no fish signs in your part of Orlando, because usually down where my aunt lives in boca it's all private residents. Just hoping to find some water that's not private Quote
BassObsessed Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 There are alot of ponds that have signs posted but where I caught the big ones there were no signs. Don't forget shopping mall ponds or anywhere for that matter. If you want to hit up a big lake loaded with hawgs hire a guide and you'll probably have your new PB that day. Quote
Super User geo g Posted January 24, 2016 Super User Posted January 24, 2016 Orlando has a little jewel in Turkey Lake next to universal studio. It is a city park, with big bass and limited access, and catch and release only. You can also rent a tracker with a charged trolling motor, for a half day for $25. Only 6 boats a day on the lake. Don't miss hitting this place. Also lots of bank fishing spots. 2 Quote

hightechredneck1956 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I live on the St. Johns river because it has the best LMB fishing in FL...period...during Feb-march the stripers are pretty thick near the oklawaha river and south to lake George........or go up the Oklawaha to Rodman Reservoir...the LMB are giant in there. Get a guide and big shiners....it is worth whatever they charge... Otherwise fish golf course ponds.....they are usually full of fish and no one fishing...... 1 Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 As usual when this question is posed, I have to recommend Turkey Lake, seems a few others have as well. I had a very good day at TL when I started bass fishing off the bank. I also had a bad day of fishing out there and ended up going after catfish which by the way get pretty big in there too. Anyways I've seen the big bass in there with my own eyes. So there is no question in my mind about there being giant bass in there. It costs a few bucks to get in, but worth it. ALso the boat rental is cheap and also very much worth it. Quote
