Super User burleytog Posted June 11, 2010 Super User Posted June 11, 2010 Dipping some jigheads, got one a little too hot. Lead slipped right off the hook into the powder. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 using a torch huh? Do you have a heat gun? works faster and better. I think all of us have done that atleast a couple times. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 yikes, the hot lead didnt hit you did it? Quote

Super User islandbass Posted June 12, 2010 Super User Posted June 12, 2010 I've done that, it's a clear sign of heating it too much. Instead of using a lighter, use a can of sterno. You will get heat more of the jig head surface area more evenly. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 12, 2010 Super User Posted June 12, 2010 Hit a few garage sales and get you a $5 toaster oven. Mine only cost $2. You can use it to heat up the heads, then bake on the finish. Quote
