Is being a co-angler worth it......simple answer is yes.  You learn a lot from watching someone in the front of the boat, see different patterns and styles of fishing, and learn to adapt and become a better all around fisherman.  Not to mention you get to ride around for 2 days fishing out of the back of someone elses fully equipped boat.  And you never know, you may meet someone fishing one day that turns out to be a great partner down the road to travel with as well as fish team events.

I fished a bunch of events as a co-angler several years ago and it is definitely worth the experience. While you run the risk of getting paired with some guy that is a jerk, the vast majority are great people willing to help you grow as an angler. I learned to be more effective with a Carolina rig and some great Swim jig techniques during my time as a co-angler.

I would recommend giving it a try.

being a co angler is definitely worth it . you will learn more than you can ever imagine fishing in a B.A.S.S open event behind a pro. most of them are very nice and will give you advice if you ask the right questions. its an experience that is well worth the entry fee in my opinion. plus you have the opportunity to win a boat. whats not to like? lol

Nice job on the win in Florida, Chaz!  We were all pulling for you on the final day.  That was the topic of discussion after we fished Burnt Mills.  Congrats again and enjoy the boat.
